Review of the TSB, Classic Plus Account:

Opened a Classic account direct from a pop up ad when I was checking my emails.

I was impressed by the benefits in a pop up ad at the side of my emails and applied for the account the same day. The screen listed all the wonderful benefits again and I completed the form - no mention that account had to be opened after 1st March. I noticed, when checking my account today, that the £5 cash back for having more than 2 direct debits was not being paid. Phoned to check this and, after some delay, was told the benefits were only applicable to accounts opened after 1st March. When I emphasised the point about the ad appearing on my screen I was told that they didn't start running the ad until 1st March. Would like to know if anyone else saw this pop up before 1st March. Also, separate issue, I applied on line for their credit card, received acknowledgement of the application and that was that, (My credit rating is excellent by the way)When I phoned it turns out it has got lost in the system and I need to wait 30 days to reapply. Am not going to bother! Customer services are very pleasant and helpful but their system doesn't appear efficient. Reviewed on: 7th May 2017

I was robbed by my own bank

First of all I think it’s an inside job I lost over £20,000 my own bank does not want to give me the money back they tried to blame me for their own mistake someone transferred the money from my bank account to different bank account Reviewed on: 17th July 2020

Great cash incentives

The interest rate on my account was very good when I first joined, and TSB offers a good 'refer a friend's incentive. Although they had some difficulties with their online facilities a short while back, they put up their interest rates even further as a way of repaying their customers. They also had 24 hour phone lines open and while it took a while to get through, operators answering the call were always helpful and friendly. Interest rates have gone down now, but are still better than most other current accounts. Reviewed on: 12th June 2020

Customer service support

During this current virus outbreak it has meant self isolation and big concern over how to manage financially. TSB has personally contacted me to offer any assistance they can to support me throughout this ordeal. I found the service offered incredibly thoughtful and compassionate. In particular, Edward, who is based at the Exeter TSB branch, went out of his way to assure me that I would be looked after in any way possible financially due to having disabilities. Review of a classic plus account

I have banked with the TSB for 40 years or more and have never had anything to complain about. The classic plus account is marvellous as it allows you to earn interest but you can withdraw your money any time. I also like that it is operated online. Reviewed on: 5th February 2020
