Review of the Vitality, Health Insurance:

Comprehensive cover is not so

1
Referred for urgent suspected cancer having had no previous cancer. The NHS is quicker than Vitality. No authorisation, no update, no accountability and hours on hold after three weeks. They know that it will be too late by the time they get back to you. Shameful. Be advised that you will have no safety net with this provider despite paying thousands for “comprehensive” cover. Save your money or spend it with the reputable providers to have peace of mind and care when you need i... Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

In this past insurance year I have gone through a very serious health issue. Vitality have approved all my specialists, sometimes within minutes, having gone over and beyond to provide me with expert health at what was a very difficult time for me and my family. Insurance is something we have, not because we want to use it, but for that often surprise, perhaps catastrophic moment, when we need it; I am so greatful to Vitality for their part in getting me to see the specialists t... Had a sky accident and had to have a knee operation. Vitality was phenomenal in all the aspects: from booking visits, to choosing of the surgeon and after care Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

10 months of suffering

My daughter (23 years old) went through terrible experience with vitality. 10 months of calling, emailing, multiple forms filling (NHS GP) that resulted in coverage denied Reviewed on: 15th August 2024

False advertising, robotic and useless customer service

1
My experience with the Vitality rewards system, customer service, and technical team has been disappointing. The system, which rewards points on a weekly basis, is fundamentally flawed. To begin with, I encountered issues with account management. Despite having a previous account over two years ago that should have been deactivated, it remained active, causing problems when linking to my new account. This took two weeks to resolve. The system’s performance is unreliable. Point... Reviewed on: 10th August 2024

Wow. Complete scam.

1
Wow. Worst scam ever. I have been thrown left, right and center to receive ENT treatment that I have been desperately trying to obtain for over a year. Let me take you through the terrible process, which in the end left me to seek private, self pay treatment at a Harley street ENT clinic costing me £1000 out of my own pocket. So, over a year ago I contacted their “Vitality GP” service multiple times thinking that this acts as a GP - one would assume that, right? At first I thoug... Reviewed on: 15th July 2024

Don't use Vitality unless you are really fit!

Vitality Health charges rapidly increase year on year. Their attitude to moratorium related issues is just a scheme to ensure you don't claim. there is no room for any flexibilty whatsoever. Reviewed on: 21st June 2024

You probably aren't covered...

I discovered a lump on my nose and following an online consultation with a vitality GP I received a form for my GP to complete, confirming this wasn’t a pre-existing condition. My GP charges a £35 fee and has a 12 month backlog for completing these kind of forms. When I contacted Vitality this was dismissed as being in the, ‘terms and conditions’ I signed up to. Complete waste of money. I am having to go through NHS anyway. If my nose lump is assessed as benign I will definitely... Reviewed on: 29th May 2024

Vitality are VERY good at talking your money - BUT when you need them they are impossible to contact. Kept waiting for ages on the phone and then transferred to yet another section - had to explain all over again -my advice - AVOID VITALITY - RUBISH CUSTOMER CARE! Reviewed on: 28th March 2024

Not recommend Vitality!

1
If anyone is considering medical insurance, I definitely recommend BUPA. (I used to have BUPA Insurance - now VITALITY) Why no recommend Vitality: - if you have a problem, e.g. anemia or chest pain, and you have a referral from your GP for a chest X-ray and blood test - they will not accept the referral from the GP and you have to go to a specialist? But the GP doesn't know which specialist to get a referral for a blood test? I have a problem that I have been coughing for 2 mont... Reviewed on: 22nd March 2024

1
If you struggle with mental health or may need help with your mental health at some point do NOT count on Vitality. Myself and my partner have been with Vitality for nearly 4 years and have not claimed or used their service once. When my partner urgently needed to use their mental health services and book in a therapist (a service she pays for) I’ve watched countless hours wasted answering pointless emails, no responses and delays. A service you would expect some urgency on. No ... Reviewed on: 11th March 2024
