A really good experience and time well spent

I switched to Yorkshire Bank's Current Account Direct which promised 2% AER (1.98% gross p.a. variable) on your credit balances up to £3,000. I used their switching service. It took about 25 minutes and within a few days I was up and running and with a nice £150 bonus in my new account to boot. All my direct debits, standing orders and payees transferred across and everything went perfectly. The best 25 minutes spent this year! The only small drawback was that although the accou... Clueless - Zero Customer Focus

As a customer of over 65 years, firstly with the Yorkshire Penny Bank, yesterday I went into the Halifax branch (Virgin Money) for the first time as I wanted some face to face financial support. Why Halifax, because my original branch was closed several years ago and the replacement branch was closed recently. Going down fast

I have banked with Yorkshire Bank for over 40 years. They have now decided they do not want my business and moved my account to Virgin Money. No reasoning has been given. Their Customer Services used to be OK, if sometimes a little hard to understand with the Scottish accents. They closed my local branch and told me to use another, then closed this and told me to use a 3rd, then just closed this one without telling me! Waste of time bank

Bank blocks account if you try to remove money! 3 times in one week! just tried to move a mislay £1000 and they wont let it go even though its going to my Daughter, You would think the bank is in trouble and doesn't have enough money to cover payments to its clients, I for one will close it as soon as i can get my money out now! Garbage bank

Since virgin money have taken over they have gone downhill RAPIDLY I’ve had to get the ombudsman involved twice and both times found in my favour. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2021

Great Bank, Great Service!

I have been with Yorkshire Bank since I had a children's account and their customer service regarding my current account has been nothing short of exceptional throughout the 10+ years I have been with them. It is, however, a shame that there are no physical branches in London as I now find it difficult to do anything which requires a physical presence. Reviewed on: 3rd May 2020

Helped me with fraud

My card was stolen and used fraudulently, I phoned Yorkshire bank, the first CSR told me that it wasn't fraud because the person had used my PIN. I told him this was impossible as my PIN I not written down and nobody else knows it. Still he insisted the PIN was used. After an hour of confusion I chatted to an online representative, who confirmed that the payments were made via contactless and to phone up again.
