Autonet denied all knowledge of me

I had a problem with my car and when I rang Autonet they denied all knowledge of me - my car reg. my name, postcode. I spent at least 2 hours trying to get some satisfaction (this was from 7 pm) and in the end had to pay RAC £199 to come out to fixed very quickly. I have my renewal letter and documents and in my bank account it shows the payment made. I have raised a complaint but not heard anything back yet. Reviewed on: 17th February 2025

Chaotic

Took me 3 hours of phone calls to actually get one simple task done today. It was simple - to change my current van insurance over to my new vehicle. After waiting an eternity I got thru various members of staff (5 in total) 2 of which cut me off mid task and 2 that couldn't seem to grasp what I was saying. Every time I answered their questions they repeated the answer back completely wrong! Quite bizarre. Finally after approx 2.5 hourd I got through to a person who spoke clearly and understood what needed to be done. However they wanted to charge me an additional £545 for the privilege. I cancelled with them and have found a new provider £200 less. Autonet are bloody useless the service is appalling and I won't use them again Reviewed on: 29th August 2023

automatic renewall

Just called to cancel automatic renewal, was told that was ok only to receive another email shortly after to telephone if I wanted to cancel renewal Reviewed on: 2nd August 2023

Shambles

Absolutely shocking company. One of the most incompetent companies I have ever dealt with professionally ever. Took me over 2 weeks to try and pay my insurance and still no resolution they say finance company needs payment finance company say they need accept payment. No one has a clue. £50 cancellation fee

Literally just been charged £50 for cancelling policy 6 months early on selling the car. If you do sell your car, don’t bother informing these swindlers, who threaten debt agencies to recover the £50 Reviewed on: 19th June 2023

Keep Persisting

They advised me that i owed them £120 quid because i hadnt phoned them to let them know i was going with another insurance company. I cancelled the DD before the renewal date, they the tried to set it up again which they cant do without my permission. They sent me multiple texts, emails and letters advising that further legal action would take place if i didnt pay the money. I then sent them a handwritten letter that i disputed the charge, along with proof that i had cancelled the DD previously plus a copy of an e-mail that i sent to them which they never replied to. Eventually today i got a letter saying the account was closed. Dont pay them and keep going. It took 3 months but its over now-awful company Reviewed on: 24th November 2022

Cancellation fee

Says £50 cancellation on docs and they want £109 which is more than what is left to pay for the year, would expect to pay a few quid cancellation but not more than 4 months worth of payments, looks like they are experts in ripping people off, shouldn’t be allowed in the business in my opinion and wouldn’t recommend or use them again Reviewed on: 29th September 2022

Terrible customer service

Trying to insure a vehicle. Spent 20mins re confirming details and inputting card details for line to go dead. When tried to call back no one understood what was required and wanted to re confirm details (would have been a further 20mins. Very unprofessional call centre.
