Avoid autonet if you are non-White

1
If you are a non-white or have an ethnic name avoid Autonet. Twenty years of safe driving never had any claim or problem with any car insurance, Autonet investigated me like a criminal. It was a big mistake to go with them. They wanted scan copy of everything, DVLA record even my MOT certificates etc, you name it they asked for it. I could not cancel as it was passed the 14 days cancellation period. After renewal, I discovered they reduced my NCB by 7 years, after extensive enquiries they admit making a mistake with no apologies. Imagine reducing your NCB by seven years for no reason and no apology. Reviewed on: 30th October 2020

Not sure why review sites do not let you give a zero score

...As this company is a definite ZERO. When I was planning to move house I informed Autonet - who then said there’d be a £250 increase in my policy cost!! I then looked on line and found that other insurers were actually quoting £150 a year less for the new address. When I pointed this out to Autonet refusing to accept the increase THEY cancelled my policy and then charged me £129 for early cancellation... absolute ****ers. I’m now getting bombarded with letters, texts and e-mails - all of which come in PAIRS - So their admin systems are **** too. Reviewed on: 20th October 2020

THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH

1
POSSIBLY IF NOT ABSOLUTLEY THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH REGARDS TO COMMUNICATION - ONCE THEY GET THE SALE AND YOUR MONEY THEY ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN ANYTHING, HEAVEN FORBID IF I EVER HAD A CLAIM THEY'D BE USELESS - STAFF HAVE ATTITUDES, ARE VERY UNHELPFUL, DON'T CALL BACK WHEN THEY PROMISE TO, JUST GENERALLY SHOCKING SERVICE - STEER WELL CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY - YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU DON'T - WHAT A JOKE OF A COMPANY FROM START TO FINISH - AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID Reviewed on: 3rd September 2020

Dont be tricked by brokers

AVOID AT ALL COST Been with Autonet on/off for years. Competitive prices etc but the worst experience when you really need them!!!! Wrote car off.....bad enough.....lots of fees/excess charges through insurance company (to be expected) that autonet insurance brokered for me. Hit with a bill from Autonet for my policy in full (accident happened 2 months into years policy). I had no idea this was a “thing” with brokers....you need to pay your years premium regardless if ca is written off/sold/you want to leave out with 14day cool off period. Robbing pri*ks. NEVER will I use there services again and it has become a little project of mine to make sure everyone knows this hidden detail about brokers. PS - Company was also like a chocolate fire guard when I needed there assistance with vehicle recovery etc and I ended up bypassing them completely and dealing with insurance directly. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!! Get your insurance direct and cut out the middle man. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2020

Warning! Stay Away!

1
You're better off with the brand insurers. Autonet are scammers. They initially give you the best quote, then come back to you a week later to say some details were missing, despite providing all details on the comparison site, and threaten to cancel the policy unless you pay more money. When you cancel, they charge £25 for no reason anyway. Stay away! Reviewed on: 18th August 2020

Outrageous

1
After close to 10 years uninterrupted business from me to Autonet insuring my van. I’ve just had the pleasure of paying 171.31 just to cancel my insurance policy. Special thanks to the team leads Michael and Shaun for not budging in the cancellation fee. To say I’m angry would be an understatement. Excellent customer service guys, and thanks for 10 years business. What a joke. Furious Reviewed on: 22nd July 2020

Friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable staff. Worked hard to answer all my queries. Reviewed on: 21st July 2020

Simply awful

1
Autonet tried to levy an additional premium for a 'claim' that didn't exist. When email documentation was sent to them to disprove this 'claim' they chose to ignore it 3 times. Subsequent telephone calls were also ignored and promised call backs never materialised. I'll never use this shambolic outfit again. Reviewed on: 14th July 2020

Con Artists

Competitive quote given but after deposit is taken you receive a letter wanting additional premium , When you cancel the policy because they are no longer competitive you only receive half of your deposit ! Great Scam guys !! Reviewed on: 7th July 2020

Awful experience

1
Opted for automatic renewal. Received what I presumed were renewal documents but were in fact requests for proof of address and copy of driving licence (none of which had changed). Having not received these they cancelled policy which i can understand BUT...... charged me £80 to do so!!! Outrageous. Don't touch with barge pole. Reviewed on: 3rd July 2020
