Review of the Bikesure, Motorbike:

Terrible experience - are they even legal ?

1
I had to find new Motorbike insurance after MCE (Gibraltar) went into administration. When running comparison, Bikesure came up with the lowest quotes on Gocompare. Clicked through and was taken to the Bikesure website (no options were given to change any details passed through from Gocompare website). I purchased a new insurance starting from 1st Feb - problems started here !! A day later, I got a message waring that insure might be cancelled and asking to call them back. When I rang them back, I was told that I am going to be charged an additional £50 odd as I had not declared a third party claim. I went back onto the data entered on gocompare and there you go - claim was always there !!. Upon challenging this, they backed off (They couldn't clearly identify, where they received the data from). Then they started their pressure selling to get me to spend another £70 odd to buy their excess protection, I declined which they were not happy about. This was followed by a lengthy description of all the ways in which a claim will be invalid. At this point, I had started losing confidence in them as an insurer. Just felt like they were lining up excuses to get out of any claims. I was then asked to provide a mileage declaration form and a license code, which I submitted. The next day, I received another email demanding £78. Apparently they have my test pass date on record as 14/07/21 where as the actual test pass date is 09/08/21. I again went back onto the comparison websites to check the data, I was not asked to enter a precise date anywhere on the forms. Gocompare simply asks for a test pass month. So Bikesure now wants to charge a premium increase of £38 + £35 admin charge for changes to the policy, all this 14 days before the policy has even started. By this point, I had had enough, rang up and asked to cancel the policy, thinking I am still within the 14 days cooling-off period. Surprise surprise, they have a £60 charge for cancellation buried within their terms and conditions !! I was treated like an inconvenience by their customer service, so I am now proactively sharing my experience on googlemaps, trustpilot, FB motorbike groups and more !! So fellow motorbikers, here is my experience. If you have clicked through and paid bikesure - you are done for. They've got you one way or other !! Bikesure customer ref: 59036612 Policy number: 2775438MC036616 I have given one-star and shared my experience, you be the judge. Happy to share their communications publicly if needed. Bike sure is a broker driven by higher commission and there is no customer centricity which they claim to be. Charged me more than £100 on cancellation when I moved after even telling them I found a cheaper rate told me we can’t help your policy is active and not a renewal policy was active for 9 hours and cancellations fees and broker commission charged £100 Reviewed on: 3rd April 2025

My advice is to avoid this insurer!

Paid my insurance but then got the "We need to validate your details" email. A couple of minor changes later my quote was more than doubled, I felt like I had been scammed. I duly cancelled my policy and this was met with an extortionate £65 cancellation fee, despite the fact my policy had not yet started and well within the 14 day cooling off period. I accept some small admin fee would be chargeable but they abused this fact and I would not recommend this company in any capacity and would advise anyone to do their research before dealing with Bikesure!! Robbery!!!!

1
In mid-January I bought motorcycle insurance through the Bikesure Insurance website. A few hours later I received an email asking me to contact them because there was something wrong with my details. They told me over the phone that I had made a mistake because I had indicated that I had a category ‘A’ driving licence when in fact I had an ‘A2’ driving licence. The problem is that you can’t choose this option because it’s not listed on their website. Because of this they increased my policy from £53 to £91 per month and when I declined they charged me a cancellation fee of £65. I bought the policy more than two weeks before it started so it wasn’t active, they changed the offer and tried to force me to accept it. Even though I have the right to refuse the policy for 14 days without giving a reason and even though they changed the contract which I didn’t accept, they ignored my arguments and charged me the fee. I have written an appeal but I have not received a response so far so I am taking my complaint to the FCA. Bikesure's practice is clear to me: first they sell at a good price, then they raise the price, then they charge a cancellation fee, easy money Reviewed on: 30th January 2025

Happy to con a pensioner, disgusting people

1
I’m a pensioner and got a quote from Bikesure for my motorcycle that was coming up for renewal, the quote of £104 was better than my current insurer so I accepted, my renewal wasn’t due to start for ten days, I stupidly paid the £104 and a number of days later Bikesure contacted me to amend the quote to a ridiculous £270 and demanded the extra money, I of course said i couldn’t pay an extra £170 so wouldn’t be insuring with them, bear in mind my insurance wasn’t due to start for a week. They then cancelled my policy and only refunded me £37, stole the rest, so i didn’t even have a single days insurance with them, despite contacting them several times they weren’t interested and said I had been refunded what I was owed, you signed the agreement they said !! This seems to be a common con that they use to get your money for doing nothing as I read other reviews of them doing the same, absolutely disgusted by them. Reviewed on: 16th November 2024

Avoid these guys. Awful experience!

1
Should have realised they are a broker. They only ever cared about their money and what they were owed. I lost 8-9 months of money, then got hit with additional fees, they kept any money I was owed back…. It was an awful experience where I felt I got screwed. Criminal! Reviewed on: 13th November 2024

Wish I had read the reviews before taking out a policy online. Ridiculous threatening demand email wanting further info after setting up and paying for policy online. Just trying to increase premium tactic. Then charged me £65 cancellation fee + commission + a few days insurance cover at at ridiculous price. Refunded approx 50% of premium after policy in force for a few days and within 14day cooling off period. Complete rip off merchants. No surprise as I see they are part of Adrian Flux. Steer well clear! Reviewed on: 28th August 2024

Just awful in all respects

1
Just awful in all respects, but systematic : Firstly, they trick you into automatic renewal, then they increase your insurance quite substantially (although you didn't have any accident), and then they use scare tactics to make you sign the increased amount, or even a substantially higher amount that they try to sell you when you phone. Just like one of the other reviewers, I had a long discussion with them about what is a "locked building" as opposed to a "locked compound" and what does not fit into any of these categories, which ultimately means that they want you to pay even more. Who is the CEO of that company? Is it a poor version of Godfather? Only one way forward: Leave them or, even better, never become one of their customers. I just left them.
