Budget try to extract renewal payments by harrassment.

Held a car insurance policy for one year then using an online platform switched to another insurer. Subsequently I have been sent a demand for non payment of the renewal (which budget themselves had already cancelled). followed by debt collectors letters. I find this nothing less than harassment and bullying being used to extract a renewal payment for a policy wjhich was never requested or provided. Reviewed on: 10th July 2026

The company agreed the cancellation fee with me 31/01/26, as I was still on phone they took £50.00 extra from my bank account, I told the him to return it straight away that's not what I agreed to, after being on hold for long time he admitted he can't return it. Then I spoke to a manager called jody who apologised, but went on to say the agent who took money needs more training ect, but again have to wait til she called me Monday, she left message to call her for the refund of £50 also £50 compensation, she didn't answer, I rang the company they said jody will call tomorrow! All this stress they have caused still no positive outcome. My advice to other people is this company can not be trusted from agents, to customer complaints Reviewed on: 2nd February 2026

never again will i ever use bydge

paid on a price comparison site ,then the next day i get an e mail saying they want more money, they give you a good price to suck you in then rip you off, would not recommend to my worst enemy, it would have been cheaper staying with my existing providor. Reviewed on: 24th August 2023

Claim dealt with effectively!

Someone drove into the back of my brand new car when I had only had the car for 3 months! Reported it to Budget to make a claim, they got Enterprise to manage the incident and supply me with a rental car until my car was repaired. Car was taken to main dealer within 2 days and repaired within a week. The whole process was well managed and totally stress free. Being able to manage my account online was great too and meant I was always able to access my documents, add or remove additional drivers, etc. Any dealings I've had with customer service have always been good too. They're ok YOU KNOW

I feel Budget are sufficient and I can successfully detail a brief overview of my experience. Firstly they are quick to identify any previous claims any named driver has. Its the first thing they will do!! Secondly they are actually really cost effective and for this i can not fault them. Providing you be open and honest they are competitive and will beat any quote on the market with out you even needing to do any formal market research, I for one only review something should i feel it meets my criteria so well done!!
