Review of the By Miles, Car Insurance:

Miles better than the rest .

I have been a loyal customer for a few years. They have been excellent. Even when I was in an accident. 5 stars! Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

First Class!!

Customer service and value for money make this the best insurance choice. Amazing staff who care!! Reviewed on: 9th August 2023

Brilliant insurance paid only for the miles you drive

4
My car insurance bill went from approx £1000 per year to roughly £7 per month! You have to pay a fee of £150 to cover the car when parked and the rest is based on the OBDII tracker you plug in under your steering wheel. Would highly recommend. Hopefully the recent sale to Direct Line won't ruin the experience! Reviewed on: 8th August 2023

Awful customer service ever

1
No call centre they never pick up. You have to chat but can take 12hrs to connect. They will charge to change car over even the car is small in insurance group still. No complains department. If you are unhappy you can not do much. Triple price next year they are just after money. Simple as that Reviewed on: 4th July 2023

Great price for low mileage from top company

If you do low miles in a year, give these guys a try. They are a top UK insurance company defaqto 5 star rated and this is a novel concept in UK by paying by the mile. You could save a fortune against your renewal. You have nothing to lose so give them a try here https://bymiles.co.uk/refer/FG16OVP You can thank me later Reviewed on: 2nd July 2023

Hiking their cost without warning

1
First-year I enjoyed but after renewal, they hiked the price by 200% is now much more expensive than one-off annual car insurance I regret accepting their offer, now I am hit by a double-edged sword. Reviewed on: 17th June 2023

A Good Pay as you drive choice

I have been the By Miles customer for years. Yes, the cost is rising and not cheaper than my first year. But it's still comparably acceptable for me as a non-regular commuter. Also, the 24hrs online service is satisfied. I hope the company grows fast and all of us can share more policy benefits. Reviewed on: 1st June 2023

Great

Cheap insurance as I have not needed to do many miles. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Excellent value

Fantastic value for those of us that don't drive a lot. I switched when I started working from home and I haven't looked back. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

715% hike in costs going into 2nd year

From 3.5p /mile up to 25p/mile in 2nd year plus £67 admin fee for renewal and massive hike in excess top. Joke! Reviewed on: 28th April 2023

Massive hike in costs going into 2nd year

I have raved about ByMiles all through my first year with them; however I'm sorry to say no longer the case. For my first year I was being charged 2.8p per mile driven - this year that figure has risen to 10.4p per mile. This massive rise in charge feels really sneaky and nasty. And, according to the estimates given, if I drove the same mileage this second year (as in my first year) I'd be paying only £10 or so less than the cheapest 'standard' insurance.
