Avoid like the plague if you can take them to small claims court if they mess you about and harrass you I have they are the worst insurance company for car insurance going beware read customer reviews not trust pilot they are not easy to make complaints to they are corporate softly softly approach use small claims court it's easy once you get to know the procedure all the rest onsbudman et. Are dogs with no teeth only the court has the power to fight them. As the old saying goes DONT LET THE BSTRDS. GRIND YOU DOWN. Do it the proper way by small claims court. Offers one of the lowest aprs, customer service is good but their website needs to be clearer. If your payment is due on a Sunday/bank holiday and it goes past that date, it says “late payment” and gives you the option to pay now with a late fee. However the payment isn’t actually late and will just be taken next working day, yet they will still take your money and your late fee. Ombudsman claim

Bought a 2008 wrx through these from an ‘approved dealer’. Car is an absolute bag of spanners. Been through a complaint with no resolution, independent engineer literally drive the car for 5 mins then told them it was fine. So far I’ve spent £1600 on repairs to a £6k car and now it has failed MOT because it was sold illegally with not catalytic converters. Michelle Taylor, smarmy woman. Literally is ALWAYS ‘on a call’ and will leave it till last minute. I’m now going through the ombudsman because they won’t help me and this car is ruining me financially Reviewed on: 13th June 2022

Absolutely disgraceful service!

Absolutely disgraceful service from Close Brothers Motor Finance. I was sold a car by a dealer which had a fake service history so I raised a complaint with Close Brothers who informed me that they would look into my complaint. I also provided evidence to support my complaint and I was told that these investigations are normally resolved within 40 days. Well it has now been over 100 days since I first raised the complaint on 02/12/2021 and the case still hasn’t been resolved. Furthermore, I have left multiple messages with the Co-workers of the person who was assigned to my case as I haven’t been able to get through to her and she has not responded to any of my call back requests. The claim handler’s name is a lady by the name of Sinead Miller if anyone has the unfortunate experience of having to deal with this person. I have now filed a claim with the financial ombudsman and also reported the individual claim handler so they will now be taking control of the situation. I urge people to be cautious if taking out car finance with this company as I was sold a car with a fraudulent service history which of course is illegal and yet Close Brothers have refused to help resolve this situation and it’s just caused a lot of unnecessary aggravation. Appalling!!!!

We took a car over five years finance which we never missed a payment on untill the first lockdown when we asked for a brake which was still hard work to arrange not like other company’s. When the lockdown happened we had about 2 and half years left on the car. After lockdown we arranged a higher monthly payment to cover the missed payments in lockdown. A year and half on my wife had to leave her job so we asked for a break untill she started her new job and had her first payday, this was very stressful, they were rude, sent threatening letters, told us to sell our car and get a car we could afford, it was appalling. The last threatening letter came a week before Christmas telling us they were going to take the car, even though we had told them we will make a payment in January when my wife gets her first pay. They would not listen,, told us we needed to sell the car to one we can afford, we needed to pay £1800 which was mostly debt from the lockdown or we would have the car repossessed even though now there is only one year left to pay. We had a very stressful time with them, really rude and unhelpful, we ended up having to put the £1800 on a credit card even though we could start paying in January. Would never use again. I utilised this company to finance my foster child's car insurance when he was learning to drive - The finance was fair and competitive for what was available on the market - The customer service team were efficient and helpful when contacted - I would utilise this service again. Avoid at all costs!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS ! If you require car finance do yourself a big favour and avoid using this company,No customer support,No repays to emails or telephone calls. my Wife is now left with a car that was faulty from day one and they will do nothing to help even though we are in first 30 days of ownership. all they are concerned about is making sure we pay them, they are worse than useless.
