Reporting false Information

This company keeps reporting missed payments destroying my credit file they have apologised 3 times and fixed it 3 times this is now the 4th time they have made the same mistake I want answers!!! Reviewed on: 12th May 2021

Disgusting company with rude unhelpful staff

Beware of using this company. My brother was a victim of fraud and acted as a witness so a prosecution could be brought against the car dealer who committed the fraud. Close Brothers thanks to my brother is to hold the debt on his credit report and to be completely unhelpful when trying to resolve the issue. Now having to employ a solicitor to get them to speak to us. I'm being over generous with 1 star!!! Reviewed on: 7th April 2021

Wha a joke company

Company cancels ya insurance without telling you and then charge u 400 quid for cancelling. All because made smallest mistake on the fone. Because I claimed I had my car for over 1year. And only had for 10 n half months. I had to pay 400quid cancellation fee. Apsoulte joke company and if see any these brothers they be getting smacked up :) Reviewed on: 3rd March 2021

Just shocking

After failing to do their jobs at all during lockdown they are now seeking to tmreturn things to normal when my situation has not changed. It got worse. I was made redundant unfairly and so now have a very reduced income which doesn't cover my basic needs to survive let alone pay for this. Completely useless company who don't care at all about their customers during a pandemic. They don't seem to realise it is still going on and affecting people... Untrustworthy dishonest

This is my review of close brothers motor finance DO NOT USE THEM DO NOT TRUST THEM INFACT STAY WELL AWAY FROM THEM My overall experience of close brothers has been the worst 13 months of my life They have been dishonest ,deceitful in business practices, corrupt in how they police there own staff and have been threatening me with financial implications if I won’t play ball They use Bullying tactics to gain the outcome they want They had an effect on me with all of your threatening behaviour etc etc in the end I had a STROKE Finance is not worth screwing up your whole life for so be warned this company is not worth it I know as my life as I knew it has now completely changed Not for the better Reviewed on: 29th August 2020

Car Finance/complaints department

Took out a car on finance with close brothers, things went wrong with the car immediately. Speaking to CB they had advised us to deal with the garage ourselves until the garage doesn't play ball.... ????? This has later been used against us to benefit them and get them out of paying for any of the problems with the vehicle. there are 6 in the space of 2 months of having the car. You would think the garage would hold some responsibility especially when I have proof they have passed a car which was dangerous (ours). The independent inspection company they appointed used incorrect information, lied to me on the day and told me he would pass responsibility back onto the finance company, barely did anything to the car it was too quick to have been called an inspection the guy opened the bonnet and started the car, I could have save you money there. Everything else in that report has been fabricated and pulled out of thin air with absolutely no evidence to back it. In fact, I have EVIDENCE to prove the car was faulty at the point of sale but you won't even look at it or listen to me. Your staff are not trained to help customers they simply send them away until it becomes a bigger problem with no guidance on rights given along the way. and that has even been used against me because 'I came to an arrangement with the garage' BECAUSE YOU TOLD ME TO DO THAT. Absolute disgrace of a company, don't call you back, don't keep you informed in any way as to what is going on, extremely close relationship with their favoured inspection company ACE as I found out myself trying to get a drop of information from either of them about who I can complain to (turns out NO ONE) cant make a complaint, and they have rejected my claim on false grounds and they know it, they will not speak to me about my points only what suits them and them getting out of the situation. TERRIBLE COMPANY, LAZY, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNPROACTIVE, RUDE, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT ATTITUDE. save yourself the stress, honestly. Reviewed on: 18th June 2020

We will contact you within 5 days... Nope, nothing. Didn't contact me over a whole month despite sending three emails. Only contact afterwards when a payment was missed which they were told about. Only offering breathing space and no alternatives. Nope, not acceptable. If you want people to play by your rules then you have to play by them too. Avoid this company! Can't even open an email

Covid issue. Contacted them three times via email (and got the automated response, we will be in contact but it might be a little longer than usual, fine). They didn't open a single email... Let alone read it?! They only got in contact when I missed a payment. I cancelled the DD because I had to, I had also informed them I was going to do this as I had heard nothing. Email comes through asking me to call them urgently, I do, they have no idea why I am calling despite having selected numerous options... Well that's certainly something. Girl on the ohone is unable to help properly, tries to force me into a breathing space. She is told no this is what's happening now. Nope complaint filed. Phone call the next morning despite asking them to call in the afternoon. Feel like I take three steps even further back. More trying to force me into something I don't want and thinks that they can?! Nope. You couldn't open and read an email, I am not trusting you at all. Useless customer service that only served to agitate. It is a bit more involved but I don't want to write a 2000 word essay. Reviewed on: 28th May 2020

Asked for a 3 month payment break due to Covid and they blacked my credit rating

Wrote to close Brothers asking for a 3 month Covid related payment holiday. They acknowledged receipt of my letter yet marked me on my credit history as having failed to meet my payments. The lowest of the low, in a world pandemic when I was left without a penny these scum bags marked my unblemished credit rating with 2 non payments. Avoid them at all costs !
