My windscreen was smashed by a pole hitting it on my driveway, because there is a sensor in the screen it had to be replaced at a windscreen garage, I couldn’t see safely through the broken glass so when I rang I asked for a recovery service to take my car away but was told that wasn’t covered by my policy. I checked the policy wording and found that it was covered so I rang back and spoke to a different person who agreed to get it recovered, my car was collected the next day and a new screen fitted, unfortunately I had to travel 10 miles to collect it but the job was done very well. It’s always worth checking your policy wording when making a claim . I have used Admiral a number of times, so have obviously been competitive. The processes for quotes have been relatively easy. Staff have always been... Staff have always been friendly in the phone lines and the app gives you most of what you need on a day to day basis. Those are the positives. However, the true test for an insurance company is how they respond in the event of a claim. All of the above remains generally true, but after a 'minor' frontal impact, a full assessment of the damage was not conducted. They made assumptions that the damage was cosmetic only and simply replaced the bumper. This consequently resulted in a breakdown a few days later, which caused major inconveniences and damage to the air con unit. They have acknowledged poor handling/inadequate assessment of the situation/vehicle initially and have provided £100 financial compensation for inconvenience, but haven't accepted the responsibility for assessment/repairing of the air con issues.
