Packaged Account

I pay a monthly fee for a packaged account with benefits called a Signature Account. This is a massive saving I use the Travel Insurance, Breakdown Cover, Mobile Phone Insurance etc. Excellent value for money. Reviewed on: 25th January 2019

Treats me as an individual

The Clydesdale Bank has friendly and helpful staff, who treat me as an individual. Its online banking is simple, albeit annoyingly one has to use Google Chrome to access it which requires me to change browsers every time I use it - which is daily. However given the way the branch staff and telephone staff interact a lot can be forgiven, even the very inconvenient closure this year of my 3 nearest branches. The Bank text if I go over my limit, and give me plenty of time to pay in and avoid charges. Overall, I recomend the Clydesdale very highly. Reviewed on: 3rd December 2018

RACIST BANK STAFF

I went in with my friend who needed help with his account. He needed a phone number. When I went to the cashier she bluntly refused to offer any service, when I asked why she rudely responded 'because I don't have an account here'. I told her I was with my friend and asked to speak with the manager as she was refusing to help. The manager came out and told me that the cashier reported that I was rude to her! I was stunned, looked at the cashier and asked, you said I was rude to you?' and she said 'yes I was was'. I asked her 'HOW was I rude to you' she turned red and put her head down. The manager said nothing to her as I would have questioned her in front of me. Instead he was threatened to call the police, started shouting at me to get out in front of the customers and to never come back. I told him that I would be going to the police instead. By the way I'm a black woman and my friend is an elderly white man and my belief is that they thought I was trying to get money out of his account. At no point did they speak to my friend. They are racist racist racist. Would never have an account with Clydesdale. Reviewed on: 19th November 2018

Always Friendly & Helpful

The Clydesdale Bank, despite recently annoying me greatly by shutting my 3 most used Branches, is a great Bank to be with. Staff in Branch; Online; and with Telephone Banking, are always very polite and helpful and the Bank seems to consider my individual needs instead of just treating me like a number. I also find it very helpful that if one of my accounts goes over my allowed overdraft, the Bank sends me a text which allows me several hours to rectify the situation so that I don't incur charges. Hold your money by continually locking account

Mobile and internet banking will accept fund but when you come to draw out it's another matter. Mobile app is blocked, internet banking blocked. Continual phone calls with promises that the money is being transferred as we speak.. NOT SO!!!! LOCKED FROM MY ACCOUNT ONCE AGAIN!!!! HOW DO I ACCESS MY OWN MONEY?!!!!!!! 24/7 on line banking is a LIE!

Clydesdale 24/7 online banking is a lie. All it does is to hold the transactions then the online banking will process the transaction when it suits the bank. I have transactions sit in the holding tank for 3 days and there is no processing. They have been advertising that the new online system is an improved and smart system, in Computing Software term it is a fancy looking front system without the real substance like a real time automatic banking processing. Come on Clydesdale Computing Dept, employ some able computing programmers and analysts to produce some real computing software which deliveries what you claim, you all a bunch of crooks! Avoid banking with Clydesdale bank, they close branches without giving customers a real online banking system. I have been banking with Clydesdale for 35 years. Thinking that I could cope with all these branches closing as long as the online banking is efficient. But NO, the online banking is rubbish, useless and does not even look smart. I have been with this bank for almost 10 years now, they have great customer service in my local bank, always happy to help me out. When having difficulties with a payday loan company, they were more than willing to reduce my overdraft facilities, cutting a good deal of the money i was owed to them. Poor customer service/ ridiculous fraud dept

Recently changed jobs and after receiving first pay in bank they froze my account furnace to the payment from the new company being paid in euros. I have worked all over the world an been paid in multiple currencies and never had an issue. was told that I need to tell the bank who I’m working for , where my pay is coming from and for how much each month. This is bull ! And not stated in the t&c’s I was left stranded in west Africa without access to my bank ! left for days without a penny. Service centre refused to let me talk with anyone in the relative department as the do not “discuss investigations” with the customer. I am disgusted by the way Clydesdale have treated me and feel alienated. in the process of finding a different bank due to the lack of professionalism and pure disregard for serious issues. was not given a time frame on when it would be resolved , simply told that I have to wait until their investigation has been completed. Stay away from Clydesdale bank at all costs ! horrible customer service and lack of knowledge. Reviewed on: 26th January 2018
