Deceased Dog

Insured with DL for 14 years. Premiums increased annually and paid in full. Our dog had an accident resulting in slipped disks and unable to walk. Vet advised less than 10% chance of surviving operation due to severity & age. Inevitably, he was put to sleep. DL advised us it was our choice and would not cover any aspect of event. DL also advised age prevented payout. They don’t tell you that when the premium increases to £110 per month! DL are misguiding and lack any care to... Reviewed on: 30th March 2023

This insurance has helped up with some unexpected bills

As the owner of three cats, we rack up many trips to the vets, and Direct Line pet insurance has saved us thousands. Quick and easy and sympathetic and they deal directly with the vets office. Excellent service at a difficult time

We have used Direct Line to insure our pet cats for years. Sadly our cat Mog was diagnosed with a rare heart complaint which was very traumatic and worrying as several overnight stays at the vets were incurred plus endless tests. Direct Line after one initial call dealt with the vets team meaning we didn't have to worry about paying the bills for Mogs care. They took great care of her and made sure the rest of her time with us was pain free and comfortable until she passed away ... Reviewed on: 17th July 2017

Customer Service really good

I recently renewed my pet insurance with Direct Line and wasn't happy with the original quite I was given. So I called and spoke to an adviser. He talked me through all my insurance products and offered me a great deal that was the best and cheapest on the market. Reviewed on: 28th April 2017

I had a bad experience when I first took insurance out for my new puppy. We took her to the vets as a precautionary measure when she had loose bowels due to her new food. This visit overlapped with us taking the policy out and Direct Line put 2 year conditional exclusions on her policy regarding her whole body, bar her head. Good insurance company

I'm very happy with my insurance. Customer service is good. I've had no problems at all with any of my claims. Getting a bit expensive now but I'm in my 5th year with a very poorly boxer. I wouldn't change because I've heard some companies will do anything to avoid paying out. Reviewed on: 25th November 2015
