Shame on you cover my

I award minus 10 stars for awful company. We have had pet insurance with them since early 2023 and this year our dog needed an op for bladder stones, we put in a claim for over £2,000 and every time I spoke to them they said the claim was with the assessor, they then cancelled our insurance because they say our dog is overweight, which he most certainly is not. They are now saying they cancelled our insurance before they assessed the claim. We are pensioners and this has created us massive financial hardship - first the cost of the operation and now pet insurance is unaffordable because they cancelled our policy. The stress of all this has affected our health both physically and mentally. I advise anyone who has a policy with them to switch and anyone who is considering using them to avoid at all costs. we had paid the insurance for over a year and twice we tried to claim for two separate reasons. they never paid out on any of the claims, the last claim they said my dog was deemed overweight when he was younger so the policy was void then they cancelled our policy. terrible company with shocking response times. Dog developed a hormone illness in 2025. claim was denied because in 2021 the vet had said he was a bit overweight. The exclusion is in the policy document but was overlooked. However there should be some connection between exclusions and claims. Reviewed on: 9th April 2025

This is the first time in 9 years I have made a claim for my dog and now I realise this insurance has been a waste of time. They sent me the wrong forms initially, were very slow to pay. I had to chase 3 or 4 times - phone and e-mail, and they wriggled out of paying for most of it. They wouldn’t pay out of hours as I couldn’t prove my dog was about to die. The fact it was bank holiday, he was in extreme pain, being sick and not eating, it was only considered to be an infected paw. If it had been septicaemia which it could have been I would have to wait til he was dead before I could prove it was life threatening! Reviewed on: 3rd December 2024

Huge price hike - beware

To be honest our time with cover my has been good. They have paid out when needed and they haven’t taken too long. I have also made use of the free 24/7 vet support (online), but they just hiked my annual fee from £205 to £608. So I will be moving on when this policy ends. Reviewed on: 30th May 2024

Do not use these insurers

We paid the UK company CoverMy for pet insurance. When we made our first claim recently after having the policy for some time (for about £5000) they refused to pay out, a reason was given wrongly stating it was because a “vet had deemed our dog to be overweight” (no vet ever has) and then our policy was voided our policy without our knowledge. We never had ours and our vets rebuttals even acknowledged, and were just told that the decision is final. To add insult to injury we were told that they aren’t even the right entity that are responsible and to be complaining about, and that several other companies (The Insurance Factory, Markerstudy and even including one in Malta (called Building Block PCC) are. Even though we bought the service from CoverMy and we are British and in England. Interestingly The Insurance Factory are telling us to address concerns about to the authorities to CoverMy. I made a claim 11 weeks ago, and am still waiting for my payout. I tried emailing them, and after waiting weeks for a response, I didn’t get one. Then I tried calling and was left on hold for ages until I gave up trying. Reviewed on: 25th April 2024

Delaying insurance payments for months after a simple procedure for stitches. Dont bother if you need the insurance to actually pay for a procedure.. guess its more like a loan. Friendly team on the phone when you get through but dont actually give you any real answers, just that theyre short staffed. Guess you get what you pay for. Reviewed on: 10th January 2024
