Review of the GoSkippy, Car Insurance:

I know it's a bit of a long review but worth the read.

I received my 2024 van renewal which was £649.36 (last year price £574.04) and after checking over documents I noticed that I had only 1 yrs NCB showing on my renewal policy documents. I contacted Go Skippy helpline on 02/11/2024 to advise that I will have 3 yrs at end of policy, Call handler was not very pleasant to speak with but eventually agreed to change NCB to the 3 yrs. I asked what difference this would make to my premium, I was told that it made no difference, I found this a bit strange but agreed to renew with for another year, I was emailed showing amended 3 yrs NCB and total premium was £649.36 and was happy to proceed. On 04/11/2024 (2 days later) I received an email saying thank you for renewing with Go Skippy and noticed the total price was now £819.44, I spent a couple of hours trying to contact helpline but they didn’t answer. I phoned the next day on 05/11/2024, I again found the call handler to be aggressive, He explained that the price hike would have been caused with my 02/011/2024 phone call to amend my NCB from 1 yr to 3 yr; I was blown away with this statement to be honest. I told him that I had received an updated email after the first call and everything was the same albeit the amended NCB, I reminded him that I still have this email and he then became apologetic and asked to put me on hold so that he could look into this. The call handler then came back and said that he didn’t know why this could have happened but will now need to re-quote me for this year; Strangely enough we now have the total price of £819.44 for this year. By this time I have had enough and advised him that I can’t accept this updated quote and will not be renewing with them this year, He again apologized and said he was sorry this happened, I replied “and so you should be” I asked if he could cancel any payment request with my card holder as it was now showing that there was a pending transaction for £819.44 but unfortunately you cannot cancel a pending payment request with your bank. I was told that I will be given a refund but will have to wait 3-5 days for this. To sum everything up, if I hadn’t noticed the new total amount requested on the last email received then I would have been even more upset than what I am just now. Surely you don’t treat all your customers like this? or think that everyone is stupid, vulnerable or can be intimidated by your aggressive call handlers. Reviewed on: 5th November 2024

Away from this company

The service provided by Goskippy insurance company has been extremely disappointing. Despite numerous attempts to contact them and update additional driver details, I faced long wait times on calls, only to have the calls abruptly ended after 20 minutes. I strongly urge staying away from this company. Reviewed on: 25th July 2023

Rubbish Customer Service

Been trying since yesterday to amend my policy but the online portal is not helpful and says i need to call, when i call i haave to wait for an hour in the queue and still no response, the representatives are very rude they dont care about you they just say something and then disconnect the call. the worst service I have ever encountered

Rubbish service

Been trying since Thursday to make a change on the policy which you can’t do online. Phone disconnected twice after waiting 13 minutes. 2 phone backs promised nothing as yet. Will be cancelling policy at this rate Reviewed on: 22nd July 2023

Thieves

Had to log a claim and confirmed my details. Postcode slightly wrong so passed to customer services ...asked to confirm my occupation too. This had changed since setting up the policy. Lady told me 50 quid admin charge to change a postcode and update my job. I asked to raise a complaint, was told no point as per the Ts and Cs stand because I did t notify my job change in 14 days. Then i was offered the option .....TO DO HER JOB MYSELF and update on the customer portal for 35quid. Felicia in customer services, you are a disgrace and if you channelled your energy to helping customers instead being confrontational and cantankerous, youre company would have a slightly happier customer base than the angry ones a lot of these reviews suggest Reviewed on: 20th June 2023

DO NOT USE GOSKIPPY!

Steer well clear from this company, had the Insurance policy for 1 month, we bought a new car and they tried quoted double the price for the same type of vehicle. At an attempt to cancel they made it as difficult as possible many phone calls later to be told we will be charged over £200 for a months insurance, to then be told it hasn’t been cancelled. 2 months and no repair or hire car!

Hours on hold every time I call! Been 2 months since my car was hit and all they have done is pass me back and forth between between departments and other claims handlers. Car is still sitting smashed up on the drive and no hire car in sight. Disgusting service. I type this while on hold again... Reviewed on: 6th June 2023

Absolutely tetrible

No one ever answers, they make a lot of mistake which you end up having to pay for yourself. No one is ever available and they never call back, even when it is a very pressing matter. Even once you get through by miracle, the calls magically end as you are about to get the resolution to your problem. And when you call back they are not able to find rhe agent with rhe given name. Even if the agent calls you back, you are unable to hear anything through the phone and they end up hanging up and everything stays unresolved. Absolutely terrible. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023
