Go Skippy, skipped off with my money

1
Ordered a brand new Cupra Terramar, which on the day of delivery the dealership- Hortons, Lincoln, couldn’t get started and after 7 weeks had still not got it working. I had insured it on that day of delivery fully comp. with Go Skippy….£523.00 and after 7 weeks cancelled the insurance because Cupra & the dealership couldn’t tell me when I would get the car or if it would be replaced.GoSkippy would not transfer the policy to another vehicle and the cost of termination…..wait for it…£297.00. and the car had never left the compound. So the moral of the story is, get a car that works, from a dealership & manufacturer that knows what they’re doing and NEVER insure with GoSkippy! Reviewed on: 4th April 2026

RUN!!! DON’T BE DECEIVED BY LOW PREMIUM

I had to cancel my insurance after a month due to a change of circumstance, Go Skippy Charged me £219 cancellation fee and the customer service agent was very rude. This is day light robbery and unjust practice. Reviewed on: 28th March 2026

Steer clear of this insurance company - I joined them initially due to the good reviews I saw but they are horrendous… Cancelled my insurance on the 28th January, they then took out a payment on the 28th February of £220.00 and then 2 days later an additional payment of £25.00 totalling £ 245.00. After querying this with them they are refusing to refund me the money they took from my account and now are stating I owe them £33.00!! There phone system is beyond appalling and customer service is dreadful. Reviewed on: 25th March 2026

Absolute robbers avoid at all costs.

Absolute robbers avoid at all costs. I was unlucky enough to have to scrap my car half way through a policy and not only did they charge a £75 cancellation fee but also an additional charge of £36 broker’s fee. Out of a total of almost £200 potential refund I received only £85 they’re disgusting. Reviewed on: 17th March 2026

HIGH hidden fees - avoid

1
I have been with Go-Skippy for around 7 months, and needed to cancel recently due to my cars engine failing and becoming a write off. Within my documents it stated that it would be a £75 cancellation fee as it falls outwith the 14 days cooling off period After a not so pleasant conversation with one of their "customer service" employees. I was told my cancellation fee would be £166, with other fees being stated in their policy documents (not clear and definitely not stated on day of purchase) Avoid this company as they don't have their customers best interests as part of their business, especially if you have to cease your policy due to unforeseen circumstances. Would not recommend to anyone, nor would I ever take out a policy with them again. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2026

My son couldn't attend work due to illness, this was going to impact his payments. I called goskippy to explain and they were very sympathetic, within a few minutes the lovely lad dealing with us had come back with a great solution and at affordability,he worked with us and went above and beyond to make sure all my concerns and problems were solved,I advise anyone struggling,in any shape or form to contact them and im sure they will help sort your problem however big or small,I honestly can't thank them enough Reviewed on: 5th February 2026

Do NOT get your car insurance from GoSkippy, I've been with them for over 10 years, and now they are refusing me for next year, all because I reported I had a small incident. And yet the other driver hasn't reported the incident. The 1st one ever and now I'm to high risk. This is how they treat long standing customers. Reviewed on: 11th December 2025

Horrible company

1
Cancelled my policy before my next payment date and they took yet another payment. When I phoned up they couldn’t tell me if it will be refunded, instead taking about “recalculating” and that I’ll be refunded in 28 days IF I am entitled to it. This is nearly £300. They also lied about why the payment was taken, saying it was already in process when I cancelled but actually they didn’t inform the credit company of the cancellation (confirmed by them). Other than that they were a nightmare with policy documents and wouldn’t accept “proof of no claims bonus” document as proof of no claims. Weren’t much help in sorting this out and felt like I was going around in circles. Cancellation fee was atrocious at £195. I only wanted to be able to drive my partners car as a second car and wasn’t worth it in the end. Honestly feel robbed. Reviewed on: 3rd December 2025

RIP OFF DO NOT USE

1
I used Go Skippy from 29th September to 14th November because they were the cheapest on Gocompare but when I looked deeeper into everything, the amounts I had to pay in the event of an accident were way higher than any other insurance company. I decided to sell the car and cancelled the insurance and they are charging an additional amount of £213 just to cancel the policy. Daylight robbery and I would not go anywhere near this ripoff company. Reviewed on: 22nd November 2025
