Total waste of time

1
Got a great renewal quote on GoCompare so after my existing insurance supplier couldn't quite match it I called GoSkippy to go ahead on the quote. I had mistakenly noted my renewal date as 1 day later than it was so when I asked to change it by one day they put the quote up by £250! despite no other changes to the policy details other than wanting to pay them a day earlier they would not correct this absurd increase and the lady on the phone could not see how ridiculous this was. A total waste of my time and a display of what a load of amateur idiots run this scam company. Dont waste your time, just negotiate with a reputable firm of insurers. Having now read the reviews on here it would seems it's high time for an ombudsman to step in and sort this lot out Reviewed on: 2nd January 2019

I had to pay £250 because I cancelled my policy after 5 months. Those are the fees that I had to pay: CANCELLATION FEE BROKER FEE FINANCE FEE INTEREST CHARGED BY CREATION LEGAL COVER BREAKDOWN COVER VEHICLE REPLACEMENT I have to pay the full add-on products cost, even if I used them just 5 months. So dear friends, read carefully their terms. As they said: "The charges would apply as per our terms of business." Reviewed on: 27th November 2018

BEWARE - PLEASE READ

1
PLEASE READ — I had a collision in June this year (2018) and it was not my fault. I contacted GoSkippy/Eldon Insurance/Southern Rock and was finally told I would have to claim on my insurance while “investigations” were ongoing. I was not asked for my account of what happened, I was not asked to provide any evidence of the collision and how it happened - I was instead asked to pay the excess and claim on my insurance. I refused and complained about bot being asked to provide any evidence of my side of the story. Rather, “pay the excess and claim on your insurance”, was what I was told. My complaint was not upheld by GoSkippy, instead a sudden flurry of requests for information/evidence that should have been made in the first place now followed. A few weeks after filling in the forms and sending these back I got a call from a personal injury specialist from GoSkippy accusing me of being at fault. That’s right. My very own insurance company! GoSkippy!!! I calmly explained how the accident happened to her because it was evident she had not even read my case file. She said I should not have been waiting in the yellow box to turn right when the accident occurred. I explained to her I was not in a yellow box, and if I were, I would’ve been right to do so!! She stammered and stuttered when she realised she’d been caught out. She had one mission. To get me to accept whole or split liability over the phone. This lady proposed a 50/50 split liability resolution. I refused. I told her to put all her correspondence in writing. ALWAYS ASK FOR DETAILS IN WRITING AFTER SPEAKING TO ANY ORGANISATION ON THE PHONE. IF POSSIBLE DECLINE TO SPEAK, AND ASK FOR THE INFORMATION VIA EMAIL. The longer the paper trail the better. I got a letter back from this lady offering me 70/30 split in my favour. I still refused. She even threatened me with being saddled with court costs, but I don’t scare easily, especially when I know my rights, and know I am in the right. In her final response she stated I would have to wait for the police report before any progress could be made on who was to blame. Eventually my insurance with GoSkippy on my car lapsed; hence I had to get cover with another insurer. Would you believe that three days after taking cover with my new insurers I got a letter from them telling me that my previous insurers had changed the status of the accident on the CUE (Claims Underwriting Exchange) from ‘no fault’ to ‘my fault’. And they added a massive increase to the cost of my premiums. Of course, I complained. About a month after complaining the police sent over their report validating I was not at fault! I forwarded it to my current insurers . But this company is not like GoSkippy, they are not in it just for the money. They do exist to provide a service and they provided me with an email address to send all the evidence that proved I was not at fault for the accident. I sent them my no claims letter, police correspondence and the email from the dubious personal injury lady at GoSkippy. They immediately amended my policy and awarded me compensation. I have still not heard back from GoSkippy till date. I escalated the case to the Ombudsman but the last I heard is that they keep sending the Ombudsman information in the wrong format. It’s been 5 months (now October 2018) since the accident. I have since purchased a new car but the other sits in my driveway, unfit for driving due to the collision and a bleak reminder of the deliberate failure of GoSkippy to honour their side of a policy agreement I signed with them and paid for diligently over the course of a year. Avoid them. “Good at quotes”, Good at cheap prices” but If you pay for insurance and you don’t get insurance cover in the event of an accident that is not your fault- then -what are you paying for? Britain’s streets are becoming increasingly congested with crazy drivers, with bikers and cyclists eating up every last stretch of road. Every minute your chance of a no fault accident multiplies. AVOID GOSKIPPY. Watch this space for updates. Reviewed on: 14th October 2018

Beware Excess charges

1
i obtained a quote through comparethemarket.com using my phone. Compared to other providers this policy appeared to be the cheapest. Once back home I set about providing the evidence required for no claims discount. It turned out that I had made a mistake and that I had more years discount than I had indicated on the web-site. You may have thought that this would have reduced the policy but GoSkippy increased the policy by over £300. The charges for cancelation were also significant. I'm now very much out of pocket and would not recommend this company for any type of insurance products. I have tried to submit a complaint and their processes are very poor, offering to call me back and then failing to call me, all the time threatening debt collectors. Reviewed on: 8th October 2018

plesantly suprised

So go skippy came in cheapest on all comparisons sights but as I hadn't heard of them I was a little wary. However as funds were tight I proceeded with the cover. After 8 years of having no claims bonus, I unfortunately was hit by a lorry in the back of my car, when it was parked up. A none fault accident but Go Skippy quickly sorted everything for me. I was given a curtiousy car whilst mine was sent off to be repaired, however, it was a write off but I was paid out promptly. Following that I also had a fault accident whereby my handbrake wasn't fully on and my car rolled off and hit another empty vehicle. Again, Go Skippy promptly and professionally sorted the damage of both vehicles. This year whilst my renewal quote was slightly higher that others, when I phoned them they matched the prices so I am in my second year with them! great service Reviewed on: 23rd September 2018

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

1
Absolutly terrible experiance! Enough to give someone depression! GoSkippy are an insurance broker...unfortunatly the insurance company they use (Eldon insurance services) are absolutely awful! I had an accident and it took 6 months of arguing with 5 different parties to eventually get my car fixed. If I hadn't put in so much effort and argued, they would have happily returned it still broken (they actually ordered the garage to return it to me unfixed - it sat on my drive for a further month and a half after this....while I argued for it to be fixed comletely). There were several companies involved: GoSkippy (insurance broker) Eldon (insurance company) WNS (claims handling company) Somerset bridge insurance (underwriters) Patterson's (repair garage...this company was the only decent one who helped me through the process) Asside from the repair garage, none of these companies seemed to liaise with each other. They lied, were inconsistent with their own terms, made up rediculous statements due to non existent knowledge of cars and made every excuse to either shift the responsibility to another company or wriggle out using one of their some print clauses. In the end I had to get the financial ombusman involved and go and see lawyers and representatives to get advice on getting my car fixed and who was liable to fix it. Would NEVER EVER INSURE WITH THEM AGAIN Reviewed on: 20th September 2018
