Deducting whole years premium after death of pet

Having insured my dog with healthy pets since 2016 and paid extra for the gold level to ensure my dog had good cover, I was appalled the companys behavior after making my first claim. My dog, at nearly 12 years old suddenly got ill and upon taking him to the vets, he underwent a scan which showed he had cancer in many places and he was put down that day. I put in my first ever claim (£1200) and was awarded just over £188.00 as the company decided to claim back nearly £600 for the monthly premiums I would have paid had he lived. Their policy states that they reserve the right deduct unpaid premiums not that they will do so. As a customer for many years I wasnt expecting this to happen especially as I have been paying over £60 a month for what I believed would be a good level of cover. Reviewed on: 20th January 2024

Not too expensive,quick and easy

It's never easy picking an insurance provider for anything these days and you can't just go for the cheapest option, that's not smart, healthy pets was quick to find online, clear about what you do and don't get, very reasonably priced, and had friendly helpful staff at the end of the phone for any other queries I might of had, let's hope I never have to claim on Alice, but if I do I feel assured I've picked the right provider every step of the way. What you need at a pricce thats affordable

I needed some insurance for a kitten I obtained, I decided to look via a price comparison site due to my lack of experience of this section of the insurance market. After perusing the available options from many providers I setled on this policy as it gave me the best combination of cover for a price I was willing to pay. I didnt opt for the cheapest policy available either, I went with a mid range level of cover which should cover 95% of situations. healthy pets cover is providing a level of cover that I would be happy to have to cover me let alone the cat!! Great experience

We signed up a couple of months ago, after looking for a pet insurance for our dog for a few days we decided to go with Healthy Pets, as their service and price was the best value we could find online.
