Useful in some contexts

Credit card is helpful for unexpected costs that I want a bit more time to pay off, but given the low credit limit it can be more harmful than beneficial, as going above 50% doesn't reflect well on my credit score. Inclined not to use it much, which kind of defeats the point a bit, but it's come in handy at times. Not in love with it, but it does the job to some extent. Reviewed on: 31st March 2023

Out of date service

Setup was simple via the app as a existing current account customer but direct debit setup and requesting additional card seems archaic either a sloppy online form or PDF to download and post. This is surprising in this day and age. Reviewed on: 24th February 2021

How many security questions?

My main gripe was the complete nightmare it is to set up online banking, phone calls, telephone security codes, questions, phrases, stupid bits of plastic, downloading app to generate yet another code. No other bank I have dealt with makes it such a fiasco. The customer service were patronizing, sounded bored and reading from a script. Glad I'm only using for the 0% balance transfer so won't have much occasion to log in as I suspect I'll have to reset the whole lot again as I cant what was the security passphrase and which was the security passcode! Good services

HSBC which I have been for over 10 years now started as being the perfect option for me moving to a new country. It turned out to be difficult to have good customer service for them and I nearly left the bank. However in the last few years they have been really good and up their game. Online and Physical Bill errors amount.

My first problem with them was when i was checking my fees for the use of my Credit Card online and see a right amount but a couple days later i received the monthly bill by them and see a weird fees for some card operations, immediately call customer support and after some minutes they said it was a delay problems and it should be fixed in a moment. He was right it was fixed almost instantly but friends of mine told me that they had the same issue and they did not notice at all and pay the error amount so you should definitely be aware of your card's bill.
