Membership rewards and airmiles, just brilliant.

I love the BA Amex because of the membership rewards, it's a brilliant aspect of the card. I've triggered bonuses and am well on my way around the world if I transfer them to airmiles!

Love BA Amex but.

I love my BA Amex due to the points I can collect. But, I recently got a letter from AMEX re miscommunication of benefits (some travel delay thing). I think it's pretty poor for a firm like AMEX to make such a basic mistake.

American Express is a reliable company, strong brand and its services are really good. The only inconvenience is the fact that not every places accept American Express Credit Card, so in a daily basis shops you maybe will need an other credit card. But, I highly recommend Amex as I'm a old customer, never have any problem with them and a I really trust in American Express products and services, even when I lived in South America.

Use it wisely and you'll benefit

So the price went up last year. But it's still the top credit card for travel points: spend £10k and get a companion voucher and over 40k avios (if you hit the sign up bonus as well). Refer others for another 9k avios per time. And once you've got the ...

Refer others for another 9k avios per time. And once you've got the voucher, downgrade to blue and get a pro-rata refund of the fee. Win win. Just don't borrow money with it. Ever!

Enticing, but not completely convinced

BA and Amex offer an irresistible offer for sensible lenders to earn Avios points for their everyday purchases. They had a fantastic opening offer, giving me 9,000 points if I spent a certain amount in my first few months -- enough now for a return trip somewhere in Europe. Points come in slowly after this though, and I'm yet to know if the points will be worth something more than a simple jaunt to Europe for one.

App and integration with Apple Pay is better than with Lloyds Bank's cards.

great for business travel

if you want to travel in luxury but can't afford the fare, this card is for you. The 241 voucher allows you to take a companion for free in the same class if you've accrued enough air miles. With a bit of tactical spending, it's not that hard to...

if you want to travel in luxury but can't afford the fare, this card is for you. The 241 voucher allows you to take a companion for free in the same class if you've accrued enough air miles. With a bit of tactical spending, it's not that hard to accrue plenty of miles and it's definitely worth it to sit on a business class flight knowing you've paid the equivalent of an economy ticket

I have been using AMEX for 3 years now, and I am very satisfied with it. On the few occasions where there has been a problem, they have dealt with it promptly. The opportunity to collect AVIOS is not to be missed, and they have regular offers to save money. All in all excellent service and highly recommended.
