The Best Entry-Level Gateway to Avios R

5
Tell us more about your experience: I’ve been using this card as my primary "daily driver" for about a year now, and it has completely changed how I view my everyday spending. By putting everything from my weekly grocery shop to my monthly utility bills on the card, the Avios points add up surprisingly fast. I’ve already earned enough for a return flight to Europe just by going about my normal life. The standout feature for me, however, is the Companion Voucher. Spending £12,000 in a year is a very achievable target when you use the card consistently. While the voucher on this free version is restricted to Economy seats, it still essentially provides a "buy one get one free" deal on flight seats for my partner and me. The Amex app is incredibly slick for tracking my progress toward that voucher and seeing my points land each month. While I do have to keep a backup card for the occasional shop that doesn't accept Amex, the rewards and the seamless integration with the British Airways Executive Club make it more than worth it. It’s a low-risk, high-reward card that I’d recommend to anyone who wants to travel more for less. Reviewed on: 17th April 2026

Seamless and secure for years

I’ve used PayPal for a long time and love how it keeps my card info private. Checkout is always fast, and the buyer protection gives me peace of mind when shopping on new sites. Reviewed on: 9th April 2026
