Review of the Lloyds Bank, Car Insurance:

Consistently terrible

1
They have been consistently terrible, my car was hit on the 31st of January and as of today (29 March) they have taken the courtesy car away from me a month ago (2nd March) and have not paid me a penny they agreed a figure and then decided that their independent assessor was wrong after agreeing it with me. I have now been told that after 8 weeks they will give me an answer in 4 weeks as to what is happening (so 12 weeks to get an answer), no returned calls and cannot be bothered that I do not have a car or the money to replace it. Terrible company that is a front for BISL Ltd and Covea insurance, just corrupt and they could care less about you as a customer. So my next attempt is a 14 day letter and then of too County Court let the judge decide. Reviewed on: 1st April 2022

Auto renewal nightmare

1
Trying to stop my auto renewal is an absolute pita. I have wasted 40mins of my life trying to call them, I hung up after 41mins. Can't do it by email so I will have to try again tomorrow, I will also cancel my bank account as I'm sooooh pi**ed off. Life's just too good for wasting time like this. Reviewed on: 27th July 2021

Rip off

1
Got a quote from compare the market for my car, insurance was £558 a year, tried it through Lloyds online banking and they wanted £1330 a year, more than double, what a joke... Reviewed on: 5th July 2021

Ripped us off

1
Moved 5 minutes down the road so apparently that makes your insurance double was paying 70 pounds a month tried to make it 151 done a new quote and managed to find the same insurance for 75 so shock they tried to rip us off Reviewed on: 30th June 2021

Rubbish response

1
Received renewal letter, and premium has gone up when it should have gone down! Found it much cheaper elsewhere, so now I have to stop Lloyds automatic renewal charge to my credit card. Can only do this by phoning, and they don't answer the phone. So I'll have to contact my credit card provider to tell them not to pay. AVOID! Reviewed on: 13th May 2021

Fess, fees, fees!

1
This lot rip you off. I insured a car with a personalised plate. I decided to sell the car, so firstly had to take off the personalised plate. £25 fee for that. With that done, I then sold the car a week later. Phoned to cancel my policy. £55 fee for that! Rip-off. If you think you might sell your car in the year of your policy, DO NOT INSURE WITH LLOYDS. Reviewed on: 26th April 2021

They RIPPED me off big time !

1
Instead of warning me me that they will increase premium, they went ahead and increased it. Instead of paying £35.00 a month, I was paying £68.00 a month. It was from a non claim issue from my previous company. It was not my fault. That company later sent me an email, stating NO expenses have been incurred. Reviewed on: 8th January 2021

Poor treatment

1
Disgraceful treatment to a loyal customer. I have been a banking customer since '95, and had van insurance for a couple of years. After my van insurance expired yesterday, inadvertently, renewal price was £258 I went on Go Compare to get a new quote. Lloyd's bank came top with £167, but when I tried to complete the quote, I was told (both online and on phone), that as I had a policy, expired or not, they could not give me the quoted price, and after spending approx 1 hour on a call, they wanted £258. In fact one of the sales team quoted £290. I eventually went with the second quote online with Budget for £180. I am now going to move my bank account from Lloyd's. Unbelievable treating an existing customer in that way. 2 fingers to you Lloyd's. You lose. Reviewed on: 28th November 2020

Do not use Lloyds Bank insurance

1
BE AWARE - if you cancel early for any reason they take £55 cancellation fee! I won’t use ever again - no loyalty to customers Reviewed on: 22nd November 2020

sent debt collectors for 25 pounds

1
they employed debt collectors to get 25 from me in relation to payments i did not owe. nothing more than a bunch of crooks Reviewed on: 13th November 2020

loss of no claims

1
BEWARE OF LLOYS MOTOR INSURANCE. I took out a motor insurance policy with Lloyds while having 20+ years of no claims entitlement. On renewing my insurance with another company, due to an unacceptable rise in the cost of the policy, I then found their proof of no claims certificate only acknowledges 9 years. On questioning this I was informed this was company policy. This has now cost me an increased premium to insure with another company, and will no doubt cost me more in in the future. Be aware that any company requiring proof of no claims, you will only be issued with proof to a maximum 9 years NCD regardless of entitlement you may have. I will never insure with Lloyds again or recommend them in the future. Reviewed on: 4th November 2020
