Poor treatment

1
Disgraceful treatment to a loyal customer. I have been a banking customer since '95, and had van insurance for a couple of years. After my van insurance expired yesterday, inadvertently, renewal price was £258 I went on Go Compare to get a new quote. Lloyd's bank came top with £167, but when I tried to complete the quote, I was told (both online and on phone), that as I had a policy, expired or not, they could not give me the quoted price, and after spending approx 1 hour on a call, they wanted £258. In fact one of the sales team quoted £290. I eventually went with the second quote online with Budget for £180. I am now going to move my bank account from Lloyd's. Unbelievable treating an existing customer in that way. 2 fingers to you Lloyd's. You lose. Reviewed on: 28th November 2020

loss of no claims

BEWARE OF LLOYS MOTOR INSURANCE. I took out a motor insurance policy with Lloyds while having 20+ years of no claims entitlement. On renewing my insurance with another company, due to an unacceptable rise in the cost of the policy, I then found their proof of no claims certificate only acknowledges 9 years. On questioning this I was informed this was company policy. This has now cost me an increased premium to insure with another company, and will no doubt cost me more in in the future. Be aware that any company requiring proof of no claims, you will only be issued with proof to a maximum 9 years NCD regardless of entitlement you may have. I will never insure with Lloyds again or recommend them in the future. Reviewed on: 4th November 2020

Have to opt out of renewal

1
I went with Lloyds bank car insurance because they gave me a competitive quote. This year it's the old story; loyal customers are penalised and the premium has gone up by over £40 despite my having made no claims. I have found a much cheaper quote so I phoned Lloyds to cancel my renewal. Apparently it's an automatic one so you have to opt out. After 6 minutes of recording telling me to visit web site etc the phone started to ring and ring and ring. I eventually gave up after 17 minutes and visited the website to cancel my renewal and guess what; you can only cancel by phoning the number I gave up on. I've cancelled my direct debit and Lloyds Bank will no longer be "by my side" Reviewed on: 2nd October 2020

Scam Artists

After having an accident which was not my fault, they sided with the other party without even trying to win my claim for me. I did not renew my policy but they went ahead and auto renewed without informing me they were going to do so. Falsely claimed that I had signed up for auto renew which I would never do as I like to switch to the cheapest insurance. .. So they lied about that, trying to take money from a bank account that had been closed for a while. They threatened to try to do so again without permission. I felt pressured into paying for coverage that I had not requested but was told that they would not incur the cancellation fee of £55.00. Just waiting to see what happens next now? Very bad company and would strongly advise all drivers to avoid insuring with this company! Don't do it! Reviewed on: 10th August 2020

DISGRACEFUL BANK

1
Im with Lloyds for 12 years now. I have manage my business from my personal bank account for over 6 years. Now, in a very difficult time, they dont let me to open my business account to apply for the bounce back loan. I got all requirements it needs but even that they are not helping. But to call every month and offer insurances and to "upgrade" my account (to pay more monthly fees), they are the first ones. Very disappointed and frustrated with their behaviour. Moving from there soon. Reviewed on: 1st August 2020
