Worst car insurance ever , whatever you do , DO NOT GO WITH THEM. It is a scam. Firstly , my insurance has been cancelled for apparent ‘ speeding’ , cancelled with no warning, if you go the speed limit it says your speeding. Now I willl have to declare this and can’t afford insurance anymore. In the email it said the time and date that it would be cancelled however they cancelled it before this time, leaving me stranded with my car about 30 Miles from home. The top up miles are ridiculous , i spend about £250 a month on more miles , even though I did pay for my policy annually. I don’t believe the black box is accurate , it says I have done 1000 Miles in 7 days which isn’t the case ... basically whatever you do avoid this company. Just pay the extra money in the first place for some other legit decent insurance , not this wank one.

My 19 year old daughter had insurance with More Than Smart Wheels since August 2017. At the end of August put a private plate on her car, More Than were informed, I have confirmation email if the change. Im the September she changed address, her monthly payments increased from £85 to £135 a month. On the 14/02/2018 she was hit from behind by another driver. He admitted fault so everything was simple right? WRONG! From day one we have had to argue and give the same information over and over again. Everytime we’ve made a call they denied any knowledge of an address change being made even though the policy increased almost 400 pounds! We had to arrange the courtesy car ourselves as More Than were arranging this with an Enterprise branch 60 miles away in a different town! We heard from the loss assessor on 22/02/2018 l, he informed my daughter the car was a right off, she accepted the settlement offer and was payed out within a few days. Great right? NO! We had to declare to the loss assessor weather the car had a cherished number plate, this we did, we have the email as proof. During another phone call with More Than made by myself I was told that my daughters car did not have a cherished number plate. ( huge argument) They had nothing on their system to confirm the number plate had been changed. To any normal humam being the private plate was obvious, it was my daughters name and didn’t match the year of the car for a start! My daughter was told she had to carry on paying the 135 pound a month due to her ongoing injury claim. My daughter had a phone call on 17/4/2018 from More Than asking if she was driving her car as there seemed to be a problem with the black box! My guess is they sent it to salvage with my daughters car. She had to explain what had happened, that she no longer had a car, they wrote it off! They told her she could have a 56 pound refund. Today my daughter called me 06/062019 in a panic because More Than had written to her and were cancelling her policy because there seemed to be a problem with her black box and she had ignored their attempts to contact her. That was the last straw, I got on the phone and acted like a demented lunatic! This worked! I was informed that on the 22/14/2018 they should have written and told my daughter she had 30 days to put a new vehicle on the policy or it would be cancelled. (My daughter hasn’t yet got another car) They shouldn’t have carried on taking £135 a month, last payment taken on 01/06/2018! She was given false information! She will be refunded! They are sorry for the misunderstanding! Do not insure with More Than Smart Wheels! The company is a complete unprofessional joke

I have only had this insurance for 2 months so far and its already driving me insane. i have the smart wheels black box and i have noticed that it inaccurately measures my speeding. I always go below the speed limit as required but my score is always -10? I chose to ignore it but I made sure that i always go up to 25mph on a 30mph zone. It was challenging as other road users were not happy i was driving too slow. However, i received a text message from smart wheels warning me about my speed. I was entirely confused and quite annoyed because I always made sure i went below the speed. However, I still carried on driving as normal for a while until i received ANOTHER text message telling me i was speeding. I definitely knew that it wasn't me who was wrong, it was the telematics box. I phoned them up i told them about my problem I was having as i worried that my policy would get cancelled if this carries on. They looked at my records and told me that I was APPARENTLY doing 51MPH ON A 30MPH ROAD!!!! That is absolutely ridiculous and it makes no sense! i tried explaining to them that I would never in my life speed that high on a 30mph road as i always drive way below the limit. But they weren't believing me and kept insisting that the box was inaccurate and i was driving that speed. They were far from helpful and empathetic. It's really annoying as i have no valid evidence that I was driving the correct speed. They recommend that i film my speed using a camera/phone so in case i receive another text, i have valid proof i was driving below the limit. I have been filming for about a couple of weeks and it's proving to be an absolute pain. Whoever is in the passenger seat is responsible for the filming and its really hard to do especially when we have limited storage on our phones, or our devices run out of charge. We shouldn't have to do this if the box isn't faulty and doesn't inaccurately measure our speed! I can't even cancel my policy as they would not give me the full refund (less than half), or at least pay the refund of the next 10 months. This is really saddening as I have no idea what to do anymore. We just have to suffer for the next 10 months and go to another insurance provider once our contract expires.

I asked if they could re quote me on another policy to which they would providing I sent the required documents via email to which I did imediately. Ironically they never responded to numerous emails I sent. They need to practice what they preach. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone.

I took out a policy in October 2017 the day I passed my driving test. I am 18 years old and when I took out the policy it cost me around £70 per month which I thought was a good deal. However I was unaware that there was a restriction on my mileage which meant that last month I had to pay extra money to ensure I would still be able to use my car as it is essiential for me to get to work. This means that I now have to pay £191 per month, this is much higher rate than most other insurance companines (although if you phone up to speak with them they believe that this is a reasonable amount of money and all other insurers are charging around the same prices - which they are not), so I would advise you to look elsewhere. I have enquired about buying myself out of the policy however I was quoted that it would cost around £768, which is quite frankly impossible for me as I am 18 years old and only have a part time job as I am attending university. I would not recommend this company to anyone, it is very unreasonable and a complete rip off.

I have been insured with Morethan since November from the get go, it has been awful.

I was first quoted £1000 for insurance and had the refernece number. I called an hour later to be told that has expired and I need to pay £1200 instead - ok then.
As a first time driver, I stupidly put in that I would drive 3000 miles a year and as I'm nearing to this number I thought I would be able to buy more miles for around £300.
I WAS QUOTED £1000 for 3000 more miles - THAT'S A WHOLE NEW INSURANCE WITH ANOTHER COMPANY!
When I first got through to Morethan, they stated that this amount was crazy and it should only be £80 - however they then realised I was with Smart Wheels and passed me through to their customer service, in which this price is ok? How does that work!?
Charging as they go and gave me false readings on my box tracker - marking me down for usage.. makes sense! Due to USING MY CAR, I do not receive any discounts for renewal, because my score is too low.
I wont be renewing and Will be cancelling my insurance 6 months EARLY as what's the point in adding on £1000 to an insurance for £1200???

I have come to the end of mt first year of driving with More than smart wheels (black box insurance) and I wish I had paid a little extra to go with a different company. 6 months in I got onto my final warning for speeding which was because I drove like everyone else. Never went at a dangerous speed but wasn't constantly looking down at my speedometer until they texted me saying if I went over the speed limit again I would have my insurance cancelled. So for 5 months the speed score on my app was perfect and I was always making sure I went under the speed limit which caused a lot of road rage against me as in my area its a 20mph limit. After almost completing the year I got a bad score on the app for speed however I knew I didn't go over the limit. So I phoned them up and got through to a nasty unprofessional woman who said I was definitely going over the speed limit. I even got her to look on google maps because she thought i was speeding in a 20mph road when actually it was a 30mph road and the signs were there to prove it but she just didn't accept it. In the end I got on the phone to a manager who actually sorted it for me and I got a complaint through to that woman. So not a pleasant experience... My policy finishes in 6 days so at least I can speed now because they have to give 7 days notice to cancel my policy for speeding :)))

Whatever you do, don't even go with this company if you go over the miles you put down initially you will be paying in excess of £300 for 1000 miles as a top up. 33P a mile.

I have never had any problems with the box, it is fairly accurate in terms of speeding and smoothness, you do lose points for driving after 11pm but thats expected.

The 'average' score that is calculated from your journeys is a myth, I would love to see the algorithm that calculates that score however as I have had the majority of my journeys rated 10 yet my score still stands at 2.7 and none of my journeys drop below 5.

But what is really the worst is the top up miles, I had my score at a 4.7 out of 10 (Goes from -10 to +10) and I was charged £330 for 1000 top up miles. That is beyond a joke, this is a young drivers insurance and they're expecting young drivers who aren't even on adults wages to pay 33p a mile to be able to drive there cars.

I would do anything to stay away from more than and wouldn't recommend this insurance to anyone, even if another insurance is slightly more I would go for that one because of the cost of top up miles with this company.

My husband and I insured our car with this AWFUL Company about 9 months ago. After getting 2 warnings for speeding they decided to cancel our policy, (even though I can swear you guys that we were not speeding at all, but it's our word against theirs) which didn't really bother us because were paying the ridiculous amount of 211 pounds EVERY MONTH. So they sent us an email letting us know that in 7 days time they were going to cancel the policy, so we decided to cancel the policy before they do.

We cancelled the policy on the 8th of February and then GUESS WHAT? On the 12th they still took the monthly payment from us, 211 pounds when the policy was already cancelled. Of course we called them straight away and they told us that they were going to send us some kind of balance clarifying all the payments done, outstanding payments and cancellation fees the might have to be paid or of course if they were supposed to refund us some money. We wait for more than 3 weeks and the balance never arrived. We called them again and they said that they didn't send us the balance because there were no outstanding payments because everything was already paid, OF COURSE IT WAS PAID BECAUSE THEY STOLE US 211 pounds just because they wanted to keep collecting money from us. We asked them to send me this balance and they refuse to do it, they said that they were not able to send this balance because everything was paid and because his account department was somewhere in Asia. All we were asking for was to get the balance that they said they were going to send us and that never happen they absolutely refuse to do so.

MORE THAN, if you are reading this don't even bother replying back to our review, as you guys will see the reply absolutely the same to everybody which means they don't care about offering a good service to their customers all they want is your MONEY.

Stay off this company. I bought a home policy online and paid in full a sum of £180.74, it took 3 days before I got an email an acknowledging my payment.

When I saw the policy document, the excess I selected online was £0 what I got on the document was different (£350), so I call to cancel it immediately at least 10 days before the policy starts.

They promised a refund since 19th of March and up until today, they haven't refunded me my money. I have called at least 3 times to request this refund, they keep giving me 3 to 4 working days to refund the card I paid with.

1 month is almost gone and I haven't gotten my money back from them.

Please stay away for your good

After I had written this review, I got a call from the company and my money was refunded as promised after 3 days. I am happy I got my money back.

I have been with this nasty company for almost 4 years. Every year my insurance go higher instead of reducing. My renewal is due in 18 days and I have just been told is has been increased by £500. I have never had any accident and I have never made any claims, not even breakdown. When I asked why it was being increased, the lunatic told me it has nothing to do with me, but the company just decided to increase my insurance price. How disgusting? I then told them I would like to cancel my insurance, and the idiot told me I am more than welcome to do so. Now funny enough, I went back online to get new quotes and found this useless company is offering insurance for £500 less for new customers but the oldies get to pay more. I will never get insurance from this fraudulent company and will never recommend to nobody.

I can't change the insurance on the car to my new car on line because the website is down. I have been on hold for nearly TWO HOURS to do what every other company has seen as a relatively simple task. Twice so far I have managed to speak to someone who have both 'transferred' me back to the start of the hold process.

I started my policy with more than smart wheels in April 2017 it’s now March 2018 and they cancel my policy a month before renewal due to (speeding) when I havnt! When I started the policy I had a quote but they wouldn’t let me use that quote as it was a different day even though it says retrieve your quotes, so ended up paying £968 deposit and £170.35 a month I also financed a car as I just wanted to be out on the road, this insurance company never gave me discount towards my renewal also kept saying I’ve been speeding when I havnt, I am a 21 year old with a family I can no longer get insurance elsewhere because of this company cancelling my policy without warning.
They arnt helpful over the phone and as It was my 11th month of paying £170.35 to this insurance company they decide to cancel my policy on the day my payment is due!!!!!!!! They are trying to do things smart and sly so they can take my money before cancelling on me! Afew weeks ago I asked about having my black box off they said it would be an £80 change but my insurance would be void as this insurance company are based on a black box! No wonder they are ripping everyone off and cancelling people’s policys so they can’t get insured elsewhere!! This company should not be able to trade it’s a total scam to young drivers I feel like I have been completely robbed and I’m not going to let this go I am going to get my money back no matter what!! I took out a car insurance policy with more than smart wheels as it was the cheapest quote at the time and at the age of 18 you want to get on the road ASAP for work travel, etc. When I first rang to start my policy they said I needed to pay £845 basically just for them to say yeah we’ll insure you and then went on to paying a further £145 a month which as an apprentice is way too much but I managed. Then after about a month and a half I received an email saying I had been speeding and they were threatening to cancel my insurance, then not even 3 months after taking my policy out with them they send me another email falsely accusing me of speeding a second time and then said they were going to cancel my insurance altogether so I rang up and asked if there was anything I could do to which they said no as it had been confirmed with some team they’ve got who apparently assess the data the telematics box emits and say whether it’s right or wrong but after reading all the reviews from other young drivers who have gone with them it’s clearly a bullshit scam to rip off young drivers, make a load of money out of them then cancel their policy so they struggle to get insurance anywhere else and end up penny less for no apparent reason.

Now I have received a from them saying I owe £28.12 with no explaination as to why I owe that amount and the letter even said they’d previously asked me for the amount when I’ve only even heard about it once on the “second” letter they had sent me regarding this payment. I rang up about it and they said if I don’t then it will affect my credit rating or some random crap they thought of at the time so I put in a complaint about it. 2 days later I got a phone call from them about this money I apparently owe and they said they’re willing to drop it if I remove my complaint however if I change my mind I can complain about it again in the next 6 months. Basically them admitting they were wrong to try and charge me this money and saying they’d write it off so they didn’t have to deal with the complaint.

Everything they do and say it fake, stay away from these people, all they want is your money and to rip you off, as shown by WatchDog they are a con artists who’s black boxes show fake data which they use to penalise young drivers.

STAY AWAY FROM MORE THAN!

It’s a massive scam for any young driver!

Big admin fee now to pay. The customer service is very confusing, different answers from different people. Stressful experience and this is the first time I have put up a complaint about anything. I also had to by extra miles three times, costing more each time, just bought an additional 1000 miles then two days later my son drove 63 in a 60 road ( fair enough) but the cancelled the policy 11 months into the contract and we lost the monies just paid. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, there is NO talking to them.
