When it was administered by RSA, the claims handling process was excellent - simple to do on-line - quick to settle - and you could track progress of the claim by accessing your account. Since Admiral took over, it has been nothing short of a disaster. Tried to submit a claim on 10 Sept - on-line form wouldn't recognise the policy number. It turned out that when the new policy started in January, this year, the policy number was changed and no one bothered to tell me. Said they would send out letter again - it's just arrived - with the same RSA Policy Number that I had originally!! Everyone is blaming 'new computer systems'. Submitted claim eventually - and not having had any form of acknowledgement that they had received the claim for two days, rang this morning to make sure they had got it. Was told, initially that they hadn't and I was asked what the Claims Number was - I didn't have it because the system doesn't generate one - contrary to what the claims handler was saying. Then.....surprise,surprise - he suddenly found the claim - and once again blamed "this new computer system we are still getting used to". And how long are they going to use that excuse - they've been dealing with More Than Pet insurance for almost a year! Obviously the claim has still to be settled but I not holding out much hope of seeing that happen anytime soon. What a deplorable state of affairs. Freezer insurance they paid out without any issues. No receipts were required and they paid out within a few days. :)

BVS is meant to validate a claim but instead off addressing the claim they are only interested in under cutting the claim. Also the reviews on this company are horrendous. I will be reporting both companies to the insurance ombudsman as well as writing to Which the consumer champion. My dog went in for an operation we were quoted £1100 for the operation to remove the lump and have the lump tested for cancer,... My dog went in for an operation we were quoted £1100 for the operation to remove the lump and have the lump tested for cancer, we paid the 20% excess and then more than split this operation into 2 operations so that they could charge us 2 excess payments which came to 500 quid even though he only had one op.
