Freezer insurance they paid out without any issues. No receipts were required and they paid out within a few days. :)

Excellent under RSA - but now rubbish

I have had pet insurance with More Than for almost 13 years and am currently paying over £240 per month! When it was administered by... I have had pet insurance with More Than for almost 13 years and am currently paying over £240 per month! When it was administered by RSA, the claims handling process was excellent - simple to do on-line - quick to settle - and you could track progress of the claim by accessing your account. Since Admiral took over, it has been nothing short of a disaster. Tried to submit a claim on 10 Sept - on-line form wouldn't recognise the policy number. It turned out that when the new policy started in January, this year, the policy number was changed and no one bothered to tell me. Said they would send out letter again - it's just arrived - with the same RSA Policy Number that I had originally!! Everyone is blaming 'new computer systems'. Submitted claim eventually - and not having had any form of acknowledgement that they had received the claim for two days, rang this morning to make sure they had got it. Was told, initially that they hadn't and I was asked what the Claims Number was - I didn't have it because the system doesn't generate one - contrary to what the claims handler was saying. Then.....surprise,surprise - he suddenly found the claim - and once again blamed "this new computer system we are still getting used to". And how long are they going to use that excuse - they've been dealing with More Than Pet insurance for almost a year! Obviously the claim has still to be settled but I not holding out much hope of seeing that happen anytime soon. What a deplorable state of affairs. I'm seriously thinking of cancelling the insurance and funding any further expense myself. Read more Read less

    I've been with morethan for 8 years I recently lost my dog through a brain tumour she needed medication throughout her illness and various vet... I've been with morethan for 8 years I recently lost my dog through a brain tumour she needed medication throughout her illness and various vet visits my claim went in and in 2 weeks they've sent the same email over and over asking for more information my vets have sent her whole medical history over to them three times.they are totally incompetent and unprofessional I would definitely not recommend them to anyone .     Avoid like the plague! Once they have your money they just walk away from any claim, i.e. they outsource this crucial part of their business... Avoid like the plague! Once they have your money they just walk away from any claim, i.e. they outsource this crucial part of their business to a third party called BVS. BVS is meant to validate a claim but instead off addressing the claim they are only interested in under cutting the claim. Also the reviews on this company are horrendous. I will be reporting both companies to the insurance ombudsman as well as writing to Which the consumer champion. If you find yourself having to make a claim ensure you get everything in writing or else you will find yourself in the situation he said she said. Read more Read less

    Steer clear of these rip off merchants

    My dog went in for an operation we were quoted £1100 for the operation to remove the lump and have the lump tested for cancer,... My dog went in for an operation we were quoted £1100 for the operation to remove the lump and have the lump tested for cancer, we paid the 20% excess and then more than split this operation into 2 operations so that they could charge us 2 excess payments which came to 500 quid even though he only had one op. I will not renew with them again and If you don’t want to be ripped off I suggest you steer clear of these rip off merchants. Read more Read less

    THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER!

    I was with more than pet insurance for 14 years for my cat, and I got another kitten and added her to the policy. I... I was with more than pet insurance for 14 years for my cat, and I got another kitten and added her to the policy. I only ever claimed once in 14 years for a kidney scan a few years ago, which was a slight hassle. However, I have to rate this company as low as possible due to the fact they would not cover my kitten for a dental problem as they claim due to the breeders negligence I am not covered. It was not just this, they passed me over to the fraud team in which I was heavily questioned and made out that I put my kitten on the policy to make such a claim! Even though I had already paid for 14 years for my other cat!! I was very disappointed with this outcome and the way they made me feel, as I had been ripped off by a breeder and got accused of fraud for it… disgusting service , would never recommend to anyone , rather, I would warn people not to use this pet insurance as it would appear they will do anything to get out of paying anything! Waste of money, I calculated the amount I spent in 14 years and it more than covered the bill I needed covered for my poor kitten with genetic mutations, so this was disgusting to be accused of fraud! Very disappointing, I wish I could get my money back for all those years I paid 64 per month!! (More than my own life insurance) I see the logic in the name “more than” as you pay more than you ever will get back for your poorly animal! Read more Read less

    Awful customer service

    We bought a pet insurance for a friend who adopted our cat. We asked to post the policy details to the friend who is in... We bought a pet insurance for a friend who adopted our cat. We asked to post the policy details to the friend who is in her 80s. We chased for weeks and despite confirming the address and name of the policy holder they “refused to post the papers for privacy reasons”. Never dealt with a team with such a lack of understanding what privacy means. We never asked to disclose any personal information and only asked to send some papers to the policy holder whose address and name was on the policy. Only when we made a formal complaint the poorly trained employees finally agreed to post the necessary documents to the policy holder. Read more Read less
