Reward voucher not accepted, B&Q

1
Exchanged £100 of rewards for a £100 B&Q voucher, however B&Q will not accept the voucher and NatWest won’t cancel the voucher and refund back to the account. although the hedge cutter is on B&Q website to order, but because it is packed san£ shipped by another company for B&Q they do Not accpt th3 voucher as payment. NatWest said they would escalate the complaint, didn’t hear anything ! Made a complaint and have not heard anything. Try to get AI to understand is impossible. Why do I bother with NW Reviewed on: 20th June 2024

Worst service ever! I will be moving to another premium bank service

1
-x3 phones in 7 days for a single claim -x6 phone calls -x4 days waisted waiting for "as new handsets" Original clame the "as new phone" lasted 3mths This is not platinum service. I have no faith in Natwests choice of third parties. I have only had to use the phone insurance so far but based on this I will not be taking the chance with the travel/breakdown insurance and will be switching to another provider. Terrible communication and out dated app

1
I have finally got round to closing my account with NatWest after falling for a sign up incentive a couple of years ago, I have had nothing but grief trying to contact NatWest for anything, there 'robot' tries to handle everything and achieves nothing. The app is so far behind other leading banks with security settings and ease of use. No sort code or account number on the physical card gets frustrating, even more so when they lock you out of online banking and you must wait for a letter to come via the post to access it. I would not recommend these even if they offered £500 incentive Reviewed on: 20th March 2023

Had to sign up as a sole account for a joint account.

1
Wanted to switch from about her bank joint account. To do I had to open a sole account and then upgrade to a joint account before switching. However my ID used to open the account apparently not good enough to approve adding a second person to create a joint account. Three stops into a branch and I still had to send off a signed copy. Move to Lloyds

1
The natwest banking app is rubbish. Especially the biometric function. It should be called a dis function. The majority of the time I have resort to using my desktop to be able to pay for things that require biometric approval as the biometric face recognition just does not work. Also why do you have use biometric approval just to change the title of a payment to someone that you have paid before? Lloyds app is so much better. It works! Reviewed on: 18th February 2023

Very bad customer service

1
I've been with NatWest for over thirty years. Last week they froze all my accounts for five working days because of a disputed payment without even getting my side of the story. Whilst I understand they have their processes, my issue is that the fraud department cannot be contacted by phone, only emails which they do not answer. Disgraceful. Reviewed on: 17th February 2023

Worst Bank with Appalling Service.

1
Been with this worst high street bank for a while.Worst Service when compared to other new banks in UK.Services are very traditional and outdated.Sales calls are horrendous and haunting if you are a Home owner to switch Mortgage to them without understanding the rationale why customer didn’t approach Natwest initially.Service has been from Bad to Worse. This could be evidenced from various social platforms people created to vent their frustrations. Run away from this bank! Closed my account and kept part of my money!

1
Natwest approved my account opening in the middle of february. One week later it locked my account (with approx £1500 in) without even notifying me. After calling TWICE and being told that THEY DONT KNOW the reasons why my account has been closed, but I have been sent a letter, I finally get that letter. It tells me that my account has been closed, again, for reasons they won't tell me. So I had to go personally to a branch to take my money out. However, to my surprise they didn't give me all my money back, but charged me service fees for the week my account spent opened. Time where I couldn't access my account because I didn't have the right credentials. So, two weeks after trying to open my account, I am left with wasted time and LESS money, kept by this bank for whatever reasons. I wonder how many people they have scammed by doing this. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! Reviewed on: 22nd February 2019

Worst Customer Service Ever

1
My card was blocked from making online payments, and after calling in and chatting 6 times over three days my issue was never fixed. I was told it was, and given the representative's name to quote, but the issue remained and when I would call back no one would connect me to the person I had spoken to. Horrible experience and there have been others. Wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone. Reviewed on: 26th August 2017

Shocking treatment by NatWest

1
Having had my bank account for over 15 years (or more) without incident, I received a photocopied letter informing me out of the blue that following a banking review my account was going to closed 60 days after the date of the letter. It then went on to state that this decision had been made and basically that there was no point in contacting them because it woul not be discussed further! Took my banking elsewhere. Shocking behaviour in this day and age. Reviewed on: 18th May 2017
