9 Months and waiting for claim to be settled

My husband and I had our house broken into overnight whilst we slept - back in March. 2 Cars stolen (covered by separate insurance companies) - we also had a small number of items taken from the kitchen - handbag, purse, iPad and iPhone that were charging in the kitchen - 9 months on we are still waiting, we have provided all of the information we needed, photographic evidence, receipts etc.. at first the claim was denied, they said that there was a clause that there was no forced or violent entry - locksmith and police stated that they had entered by putting their hand into the cat flap and un-locking the door. The non-forced/violent entry clause was only applicable if the house had been empty for 60+ days. WE WERE ASLEEP IN BED!!!! They have passed us on to a claims handling company Davis Group - an absolute disgrace. 9 months later they are still giving us the run around, saying they are waiting on a copy of the policy report - we provided case number and Police Officer details who attended - why did they not do this 9 months ago. THEY ARE A DISGRACE - DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THEM Reviewed on: 30th December 2024

Badly organised and incompetant. Avoid them.

Took out insurance for home and contents. Never got documentation. Chased it and still didn't. Chased them again and got confirmation but incomplete documents. If they cant get that right how can one have confidence in them if one makes claim. I cancelled and am still waiting for a refund. Reviewed on: 8th September 2017

Subsidence nightmare

Unfortunately my claim got dragged out for several years. The builders would give me incorrect information, stuff got damaged and broken and I've been left seriously out of pocket. Still, it's fixed now:) Reviewed on: 10th September 2016

There when you need them

I recently was in a situation where my back door wouldn't lock. Luckily I had home emergency cover with sainsburys home insurance. I called them up & within 4 hours a locksmith came & fixed my lock. Great service Reviewed on: 25th August 2016
