Typical company who charges existing customers (who haven't had any claims) more at renewal than a new customer. Customer loyalty is well and truely dead with Sainsburys.

My husband and I had our house broken into overnight whilst we slept - back in March. 2 Cars stolen (covered by separate insurance companies)... My husband and I had our house broken into overnight whilst we slept - back in March. 2 Cars stolen (covered by separate insurance companies) - we also had a small number of items taken from the kitchen - handbag, purse, iPad and iPhone that were charging in the kitchen - 9 months on we are still waiting, we have provided all of the information we needed, photographic evidence, receipts etc.. at first the claim was denied, they said that there was a clause that there was no forced or violent entry - locksmith and police stated that they had entered by putting their hand into the cat flap and un-locking the door. The non-forced/violent entry clause was only applicable if the house had been empty for 60+ days. WE WERE ASLEEP IN BED!!!! They have passed us on to a claims handling company Davis Group - an absolute disgrace. 9 months later they are still giving us the run around, saying they are waiting on a copy of the policy report - we provided case number and Police Officer details who attended - why did they not do this 9 months ago. Whilst their pricing is competitive, they seem to have almost no one available to answer simple queries. I had an issue confirming NCB's with them... I had an issue confirming NCB's with them and had to call multiple times to try and get through but the line cuts off before you reach the support team ; one has a sense the system is entirely automated so is unable to cope with an inquiry - and that's as a a new customer. I’ve got policy documents so when you try to call somebody SAINSBURYS HOME INSURANCE to clarify there’s nobody available Saturday Saturdays and Sundays so looks like I can’t claim against HOME EMERGENCY so don’t waste your money getting this insurance.
