Sainsbury's assessed and paid my claim so fast. The communication and portal were great so I didn't need to make an effort to contact them myself. They worked directly witb the vets which made a very stressful situation much less stressful. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2026

AVOID AT ALL COSTS SCAMMERS

Absolute joke of a firm paid insurance for 2 dogs with these scammers. Put in a claim declined it straightaway no explanation asked for a review point blank refused. Underwritten by the wirst Underwriters ever Pinnacle shocking firm. DO NOT USE either of these just take your money and give you nothing. Reviewed on: 10th January 2026

Sainsburys Pet Insurance

Have not had to make any claims under the policy as of today’s date however the specifics of the policy were made very clear upon signing up and the online portal is easy to access. Reviewed on: 5th September 2025

Renewal more than for a new customer.

Typical company who charges existing customers (who haven't had any claims) more at renewal than a new customer. Customer loyalty is well and truely dead with Sainsburys. Reviewed on: 7th January 2025

we try our best to pay you less

Pet killed ( Dexter Bengal Snowy ) submitted a claim for 9 days ago to be paid £200 towards cremation fees and not a penny of the £1500 i had him insured for. DO NOT USE SAINSBURY'S 2/5 trust pilot ! Reviewed on: 19th October 2024

Waste of money

Had a genuine claim and they keep saying cannot communicate with the vet even though all details are on there website. Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of money . After having had 6 other dogs previously this is the first one we have insured and when it comes to the first claim we are given the runaround. Absolute waste of money and will never do it again . Nectar Reward on Pet Insurance not worth the effort!

Poor customer service. The offer was to get Nectar Points if you take out Pet Insurance but it is really difficult to claim this. The Nectar team and Sainsbury's Bank are not connected at all and the customer has to chase several times requesting the reward. Not worth the effort. Reviewed on: 2nd May 2024

We had only been insured with Sainsbury’s pet insur...

We had only been insured with Sainsbury’s pet insurance for 5 weeks when our 5 year old dog very suddenly became seriously ill. Her treatment cost over £2500, but she devastatingly lost her fight. Sainsbury’s were brilliant, their empathy, and portal is exceptional. The whole process of claiming was easy and quick. Highly recommend Reviewed on: 4th January 2024
