Waste of money

Had a genuine claim and they keep saying cannot communicate with the vet even though all details are on there website. Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of money . After having had 6 other dogs previously this is the first one we have insured and when it comes to the first claim we are given the runaround. Absolute waste of money and will never do it again . Nectar Reward on Pet Insurance not worth the effort!

Poor customer service. The offer was to get Nectar Points if you take out Pet Insurance but it is really difficult to claim this. The Nectar team and Sainsbury's Bank are not connected at all and the customer has to chase several times requesting the reward. Not worth the effort. Reviewed on: 2nd May 2024

We had only been insured with Sainsbury’s pet insurance for 5 weeks when our 5 year old dog very suddenly became seriously ill. Her treatment cost over £2500, but she devastatingly lost her fight. Sainsbury’s were brilliant, their empathy, and portal is exceptional. The whole process of claiming was easy and quick. Highly recommend Reviewed on: 4th January 2024

So simple and quick claim

No words for how easy this pet claim was. Step 1 I phoned up and a lovely gentleman talked me through applying for a claim. Even advised that if anymore treatment was due to wait until my new policy started (less than 3 weeks) otherwise after that date any more treatment would be a new claim and wii oh ups mean paying another excess. Very helpful. Step 2 received an email confirming claim information and they would be contacting my vets for details and then proceeding with claim. Step 3 received email stating they were still waiting on the vets but would keep me informed. Step 4 all happy with vets and would be refunding me full amount minus excess (confirmed excess) payment would take up to 10 working days and any issues please contact them. Step 5 full payment was received with in 5 working days with a follow up email asking if there was anything else they could help us with. All in all a very easy and straightforward service that I would Recommend to any pet owners. I will happily look at further banking and insurance services with them. AVOID SAINSBURY PET INSURANCE

The worse pet insurance company I have… The worse pet insurance company I have had to deal with, no customer service at all, every claim submitted was declined even on a lifetime cover. They will happily take your money every month but won’t pay a penny back when you need the cover for your pet. AVOID SAINSBURY PET INSUARANCE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY Reviewed on: 28th July 2023

Waited over 3 weeks for a £60 claim

Terrible insurance, made the claim, and they kept asking more and more questions, it took over 3 weeks and numerous over the top questions before they paid £60 for my dogs treatment. If this is what they are like for £60 I dread to think what they would be like for a larger claim. Funny they don't ask so many questions when they are taking my money from me/ I have cancelled my policy and will be going elsewhere. Reviewed on: 6th July 2023
