Several unnecessary validations are needed that mean your instant access account is not really instant access it's a month's notice account. Very dodgy bunch. Stay well clear to avoid stress.

Have had a SB Nectar card for several years and got a monthly credit of points for usage of the card. In July they changed the design of the statements and I stopped being credited with my points. The points reconciliation was missing from the July & August statements and then reappeared in September but did not make much sense. I called them, had to wait a long time to get through to a person and then was told there was a problem which they were sorting out. A month later and I am now missing 4 months worth of points. Very poor service from a reputable company like Sainsburys.

Time to change banks I think.

Unbelievable incompetence and couldn't give a damn attitude. A mistake by them took months to sort out, eventually the mistake was found by a RIVAL bank. Telephone contact often took between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Not even an apology from them. I've just cancelled this card and will never use this bunch again. Time after time they said there was nothing wrong with their transactions, for weeks and weeks, yet they had transposed one digit and sent £2,900 to a random account.

Although applying for the account online took a couple of minutes, it took nearly 3 weeks for the paperwork to arrive & activating the card / signing up for online banking was more hard work than it needed to be. I do like the text reminders for payments but this was one of those cards where I watched daily for the payment to leave my account (even after I checked over the phone & via social media) - I just didn't trust that it was in place. Having moved from a bank with an app, I miss it!

Taking out a Sainsbury credit card was a giant mistake on my part. Terrible and unclear paperwork, old system making payments inpossible and very very long waits on telephone. With sainsbury credit card I've had none stop problems . Now changed to tesco. Fantastic easy to pay, see balance quick.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced, online banking options are limited so you can't avoid calling customer services and so far this week I've spent around 7 hours on hold in total and got nowhere. They hung up on me twice and three times I've been told by someone with zero customer service training that they can't help but will transfer me to someone who can and then just dump my call to the back of the queue on hold again. I wish I had read some of these reviews before using their services, I intend to cancel my dealings with them as soon as I can speak to someone

I've had a terrible experience with sainsbury credit card, numerous problems plus it takes nearly an hour each time to speak to someone. Then they cant do anything, sainsbury said they dont call people back not there policy . Terrible customer services. Hidden charges , difficult to check and pay balance. Within 3 months I closed my sainsbury credit card my choice and use tesco instead now . No problems.

The last statement I received was dated 18 May. Have telephoned numerous times to ask for my June statement but only managed to speak someone twice - after waiting over 30 minutes for someone to answer - and on two occasions the line was disconnected before I could enter my details. The 'customer service' guys had no idea what the problem was and, according to the second guy I spoke to, neither does their IT department! I paid my June balance (to avoid interest charges) even though it was twice what I was expecting assuming that my statement would arrive so that I could check the entries. Now I am told that my July balance is over £1600, again far more than expected. What is the problem and how much longer before it's resolved? Am I the only one not receiving statements?

I tried updating my address online. SB Credit card system could not recognise the postcode (as I moved to new build house), it asked me to contact by phone.
When I called, they could not process the request and asked me to send bank statement showing 3 months of transactions with new address, I told them I cant provide these statements as I am in the process of home moving and the statements will have old address and recent one will contain the new address. It seems they cant accept this.
I spoke to the supervisor and even she could not see the logic regarding bank statements with new address, I have asked her to raise compliant. As soon as I mentioned compliant, she said she will block the card and she blocked the card.
She also said the complaint wont be reviewed by anyone and will be closed straightway and Sainsburys does not inform the customer regarding the outcome of the complaint. Even she refused to provide final response for me to escalate to FCA. It seems they don't have any compliant process.
I am very surprised how they are handling complaints and how they are managing their business in regulated environment.

I am shocked and appalled with the service I am currently receiving from Sainsbury's bank, specifically their credit card department. In 20 years of using other high street banks, I have never had to complain. In 8 months of using Sainsbury's bank I have had to complain three times, make multiple enquiries, had my card cloned and now, since the card cloning, cannot see any transaction history on my account, despite a balance being present. The nectar points that I am supposed to be accruing with regular spending are absent (complaint raised two weeks ago) are still absent as are the 'sorry' points that they were transferring me. The technical team should be shot, naked in the street for the poor excuse of a banking platform, that is impossible to use from a mobile device and for their lack of an app, possibly the only high street bank now not to have one. Frankly, Sainsbury's should stick to peddling eggs and bread and leave banking to the big boys. Absolute, swivel eyed, lazy, inflexible, opaque, fat cat shonkers who should be hung out to dry by the FCA.
