minimal support should you have an incident

I took this insurance out just before traveling, and got the premium one for peace of mind, I had an incident one week into the trip and tried to inform them (as is requested in the documentation) after one week of sending me round in circles they still couldn't tell me how to proceed so i paid for the treatment myself and cancelled this useless insurance, luckily I was still within my 14 day cooling off period, the money was refunded the next day, its a shame they couldn't have been that efficient when it comes to covering you for an incident, you get what you pay for, so i advise to get a proper travel insurance and/or read these types of reviews first, like i wish i had :) Reviewed on: 27th October 2024

Avoid this company at all costs!

Non-existent Insurance & Abysmal Customer Service! I waited nearly two months for a response to my claim. After weeks of relentless follow-ups, I received nothing but false promises. It turns out the travel insurance offered by this company is nothing more than a waste of money and time. My flight was abruptly cancelled by the airline just a few hours before departure at 2am on a bank holiday. This left us stranded in a foreign country. Shockingly, the so-called 'cancelled flight' and 'delayed flight' policies were nothing but smoke and mirrors. Avoid this company at all costs! The combination of non-existent insurance coverage and terrible customer service is utterly unacceptable. Reviewed on: 12th January 2024

Terrible holiday insurance provider

Claim started in January 5th 2023 still Not had any reply back now 3 months on and I paid out thousands on medical bills whilst on holiday this insurance is not even worth 1 star please look elsewhere Reviewed on: 19th March 2023

Delay after delay

Response takes 31 working days then asked for further info back to 31 days. Then asked for further info- another 31 days. CSL cannot cope with the volume. Spoke to a poor lad today who told me someone will call back but it won't be a claims processor so not building my hopes up. Reviewed on: 31st August 2022

The agency they use to settle claims cannot cope.

They state that you may have to wait 31 days for a claim to be looked at. After this time they ask for a document you have already supplied and then put you back on another 31 days etc...... Reviewed on: 25th August 2022

The don’t pay out when they should, or even communicate, had to go to the ombudsman to get settlement. Reviewed on: 18th August 2022

Terrible

Phoned up to add a medical condition. They said adding the extra condition went over the points. Points. What points. They declined our insurance and we lost over £300 pro rata payment back. We are in our 70s. That's what you get for being honest. Reviewed on: 10th July 2022

Waste of money and time

I will never book holiday insurance with Sainsbury's again, the amount of hoops you have to jump through just to get a standard cover all email back a month later telling you you're not covered and not addressing all of the points made in your claim, is not worth the hassle. I've now just spent over an hour holding on the phone just to be told all of the agents are busy and I will have to wait for a callback. Emails are not responded to, you just get an automatic response stating that due to Covid they are delayed in responding and could take up to 21 working days to respond. I'm out of pocket for a nights stay in a hotel due to flight cancellation, I can't see the point in having the insurance if it doesn't even cover you for the basics! Save your money and book with an actual insurance company, this is just a cheap easy way for Sainsbury's to make some easy money with no repercussions. Reviewed on: 31st May 2022
