The advertising appears to be aimed at pensioners but..

The advertising appears to be aimed at pensioners heading for the hotel pool. I had to make a claim, a robbery at a Bus Station in Northern Chile. As the police were well aware of the thief, the chance of getting a Police Crime Number was NIL. They dealt with it after a quick phone call and I received what I considered to be a very fair settlement. They admitted that it was not one of their usual claims. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2026

Had a trip in Fuerteventura on a loose tile on the pavement outside the apartment i was staying at the staff took me to the clinic 50 yards away I had a broken bone in my foot a toenail torn off and was bleeding from my toe elbow and wrist got 1310 euros came home and put a claim in after a week no claim form was sent out so done it online 2 months later and numerous emails later having sent them all the invoices and credit card payments still getting messed around be very wary Reviewed on: 23rd July 2026

Steer Clear

My wife and I were going on a river cruise with Saga and whilst I took Sagas included insurance (excellent) my wife used All Clear which she has over many years. Just before our holiday I was taken to A&E and found to have heart failure. We cancelled the trip and Saga paid my claim on receipt of medical proof. After a month of sending various requested documents to Gallagher Bassett (who are supposed to deal with claims on behalf of All Clear) we are still awaiting settlement. My heart condition is not being improved by this delay and worry. As others have said, their sales team are superb but it all goes downhill should you claim. Even with a complaint you are told that it will be passed to Gallagher Bassett who no doubt will look at it ‘next week’ and decide what further documents they require Reviewed on: 18th June 2026

Claims nightmare

Firstly, the sales side of AllClear are excellent. However, if you are unfortunate enough to make a claim then it is a nightmare. AllClear sub contract claims to Gallaher Basset and they are totally useless.. Their modus operandi is to stretch out all claims by asking for more information every 7 days until you are totally frustrated. AllClear are no better as their customer care team are toothless. For reasons only known to them they have escalated my claim to Zurich Insurance and they are quoting a response team of 6-8 weeks. Everything to do with claims is hopeless . Avoid them at all costs. It takes 5 working days to get a response to an emai...

It takes 5 working days to get a response to an email and it took numerous emails phone calls and complaints to get my claim resolved over 3 months in total ! The claims handling company ( Gallagher Basset ) are completely incompetent. I took out an annual policy but I’ve since written that off and gone with a different insurance company that I can trust Reviewed on: 24th December 2025
