Reasonable price for taking the policy a year ago. Have always paid car insurance monthly and deal was appealing for the double nectar points as do most of food and fuel shopping there.
Renewal comes through 40% higher even though no claims... and to rub it in they told me that I possibly couldn’t afford to pay the extra £10 a month for the premium so they could only offer a lump sum payment option to me?! How condescending - I could quite easily afford to pay the price upfront but I shopped around and got a better deal with my bank (Lloyds) - they quoted literally pennies more than my current policy and loads of other extras included.
When I rang Sainsbury’s to cancel, they didn’t ask why. Didn’t offer to haggle on a quote. They just told me they’d send proof of NCD in the post. I made a comment that I got a good quote with Lloyds and the person on the phone couldn’t have cared less. I get the impression they have a group of people they don’t want anymore and I’m one of them.
Policy cancelled. New insurance set up. Plus once my double points offer finishes on 9th June I will not spend another penny with them. I’ll do my shopping elsewhere. They clearly don’t want my custom.
