Disgusting attitude - lost a customer

Reasonable price for taking the policy a year ago. Have always paid car insurance monthly and deal was appealing for the double nectar points as do most of food and fuel shopping there.

Renewal comes through 40% higher even though no claims... and to rub it in they told me that I possibly couldn’t afford to pay the extra £10 a month for the premium so they could only offer a lump sum payment option to me?! How condescending - I could quite easily afford to pay the price upfront but I shopped around and got a better deal with my bank (Lloyds) - they quoted literally pennies more than my current policy and loads of other extras included.

When I rang Sainsbury’s to cancel, they didn’t ask why. Didn’t offer to haggle on a quote. They just told me they’d send proof of NCD in the post. I made a comment that I got a good quote with Lloyds and the person on the phone couldn’t have cared less. I get the impression they have a group of people they don’t want anymore and I’m one of them.

Policy cancelled. New insurance set up. Plus once my double points offer finishes on 9th June I will not spend another penny with them. I’ll do my shopping elsewhere. They clearly don’t want my custom.

Do not deal with these. 3times I spoke to somebody to remove my daughter from my policy when she passed her test. I changed my car so had to update details told somebody again she needed to be removed. I have a renewal price sent me now which is a riducous amount and this is because my daughter is still on the policy. So I'm guessing when I changed my car and they charged me an extortionate amount to do this is because my daughter was still on the policy despite requesting her to be removed. I've messaged endlessly and they are just choosing to ignore all my messages and I can see that they have been read. Shocking customer service.

I wish I could tell you how rude they were on the phone but I can't because they simply don't answer their phone. I have been on hold for over an hour through their robotic stages and haven't spoken to an actual human yet. I am trying to cancel my car insurance with them but a simple task is proving difficult. If you want to live your life I suggest picking an alternative car insurance company who actually communicate with their customers.

Sainsbury’s make a mistake processing my online application. After taking payment for another months insurance they then decided to cancel my car insurance two days later!! Emails were sent but went into junk folder so I was not aware and was driving around with no insurance!! Shocking customer service, refunded half of the money I was due to be refunded. Would not use this company again!!!

Had insurance with them for 3 years, never made a claim, same car, 8 years NCD but the premium increased by nearly £250.Called, got an unhelpful advisor, Faisal, who refused to ask a supervisor to call me then cut me off -absolutely shocking. Sainsbury's name will suffer with this company!
Looked on line - other quotes are so much cheaper. If this how they treat loyal customers, I'd hate to think what would happen if I needed to make a claim.

My renewal price on my car was more than the previous year even with another years no claims bonus, shock ! To top it off they couldn’t send my no claims bonus via email. I find it disgusting that a multi million company like this is unable to do this, they also couldn’t pay the money they owed back via bank transfer even though they could take it out of my bank ok. Disgusting will never use them for anything again and would not recommend them to anyone, useless !

Having so much problems with car insurance, i thought the first policy was cancelled but it wasnt so paid for two,
on my second cover my NCB went down so I sent the proof to them on their app and then received a letter that they was doubling the amount due to them not receiving the proof which I had sent , now having more problems feeling I might cancel my policy and go with someone new.
I've never had this much hassle with car insurance before .
And still dont receive double nectar points

Been with Sainsburys for a year, and I was quite happy with the policy and the price, I received notice that my policy would 'Auto Renew' but decided to check the details. I was very disappointed to see my premium increase from £660 to £805 (Nothing has changed at all, I haven't had any claims, and have a long no claims history). I challenged the company on why this was, not given a sensible answer so looked elsewhere, glad I did!! insured on the same terms elsewhere for £540, some £265 cheaper. My lasting impression is that whilst the initial year premium may look good, they will rip you off at renewal time. Best avoided

Tried to inform Sainsburys car insurance that I, as a named driver, had picked up a 3 point penalty for speeding - awful experience. The representative was hugely unhelpful, stalled at every possible opportunity and charged us for doing the right thing. He "waived" the admin fee, but then charged us for changing the details on the policy - is that not admin? He then asked for the cars mileage - surely this is completely irrelevant to the purpose of the call. The Sainsbury's representative was disgraceful - will never use them again.

Been with them for 1 year. Next year renewal price was twice bigger than original. While checking on their website for pet insurance the price was cheaper than what they was asking for renewal. When i contact customer service regarding this just been told its discount for new customer and they will not apply this discount for me. Completely dont appreciate they customer for staying with them. Havent done any claims with them so nothing to say about it, but they customer services let me down, not going to come back to them anymore.

WARNING - do not use Sainsburys bank for your car insurance if there is any chance you may want to cancel part way through the year. I cancelled with 3 months left to go anticipating saving some money after Christmas - this was not the case. I ended up paying the remaining amount in one lump sum less £25. If I had realised this I wouldn't have bothered cancelling and would have left the car insured. After speaking to them for clarification when the paperwork came through they confirmed this was the case and I could not reinstate the policy. What a farce! I now know why my 6 other cars are all insured with Direct Line or Lancaster. You may pay a bit more overall but the service is second to none and never had any problems with making amendments to policies. DO NOT USE
