Tried to double my car insurance on renewal.

Tried to double my car insurance on renewal. Staff rude. Took over 45 minutes to stop the renewal. Still don't have confirmation they are not renewing Reviewed on: 11th July 2026

Absolutely dreadful company.

1
Absolutely dreadful company. Avoid at all costs. Do not insure your vehicle with them if you have an advanced driver safety system. Their windscreen cover does not permit OEM windscreens. If you have the courtesy cover it doesn't cover you if your vehicle is not driveable because of a broken windscreen. The contract they have with autoglass also means you could be off the road for three weeks whist they order your a replacement screen. Try speaking to an agent and you go from the claims team to their "so called" customer service team who refer you back to the claims team on the same call. AVOID AVOID AVOID CHURCHILL CAR INSURANCE AND GO WITH LV they allow OEM windscreens and their excess is usually a bit lower even if their premiums are a bit more expensive at least you get a good truly comprehensive policy. I am looking forward to the reply from their Churchill Bot that asks me to send them a private message to resolve. If my vehicles safety systems are compromised and my car warrenty voided I will hold Churchill car Insurance liable as they are supposed to replace parts like for like. I will keep you posted. Disgraceful Behaviour ! Lies and Deceipt by Churchill

1
Case Number 226739597/3 [CC247047600] Churchill have had a blatant disregard for customer service whilst handling my case Churchill have told multiple lies including "the fact my car and personal belongings would be safeguarded already knowing it had been sent to salvage Churchill also told me I had an option to buy the car but I later found out the car was disposed of two weeks earlier, another lie I have a recording of Churchill employee Chelsea admitting that Churchill " had messed up " and then telling me in the same call they had done nothing wrong I had £750 worth of personal belongings in the car that i couldn't access because the boot door was damaged and was told everything was safeguarded another lie I eventually tracked my personnal belongings down from the salvage yard and all my belongings were soiled and ruined My car was completely undervalued and wouldnt pay me out the true market value and then they tried to fob me off with a paltry payment Its important to acknowledge this review is based on fact and not driven on a emotion Stay well away for Churchill as they just do and say whatever they want without any consideration for the customer. Note to the Churchill Bot posting review replies: Dont waste your time telling me " sorry to hear about your experience ..please contact our complaints line etc...because this saga has already being going on for months ...........Pathetic! I must to share it.

1
I must to share it. Tried to get a quote and it has been automatically declined. Asked the agent why is that, as I have been driving for 19 years without any problem. Have a full UK Licence with 7 years no claim discount. Not a single problem have had. Only reason was I've been living in the UK for 8 years and not from my birth. Asked them 3 times to tell me the true/exact reason why they can't insure me, but they can't and received a couple of nonsense auto answer. Unacceptable so far. Churchill, do not waste your time to answer to this. You had the chance many times to clarify this. Fully rassist and useless company. Reviewed on: 25th January 2026

CATASTROPHIC INCOMPETENCE AND PRESSURE TACTICS

1
I am a NON-FAULT customer, yet the claims process with Churchill has been appalling and indicative of deliberate tactics to discourage me from pursuing a fair settlement. Key Issues & Facts: Claim Disappearance and Communication Failure: My claim file repeatedly vanished from the online portal. Scheduled calls (e.g., with the Motor Engineering Team) were completely ignored, with no callback whatsoever, which is scandalous. Unacceptable Lowball Offer: After declaring my VW Passat a Total Loss, Churchill issued an automated valuation of £1,698. This is a deliberately undervalued offer that ignores the true market retail value and my recent investment in the vehicle. Ignoring Personal Injury: Following the accident, I have been experiencing dizziness and severe headaches, formally confirmed by my GP and requiring medication. Despite this serious medical situation, Churchill continues to employ delaying and pressure tactics. Procedural Chaos: I was notified that the collection of the courtesy hire car (Auxillis) had been cancelled without notifying me, forcing me to wait pointlessly. This entire process has been a waste of time and a deliberate stressor for an innocent party who should receive prompt support. Churchill is not only undervaluing my settlement but is actively exploiting my medical situation. I demand immediate intervention from a Senior Handler and the closure of the Passat claim via payment of the fair market value of £3,500 and settlement of the uninsured loss claim. Please note that the personal injury claim has already been transferred to the law firm Calio Claims for full legal pursuit. AVOID THIS INSURER. Great company until YOU have a problem

1
My car had a minor bump, Churchill told me that DLG Autos would carry out the repairs on return my windscreen, rear screen, both windows on each side, both mirrors and my sunroof were covered in 100s of minute speckles, their engineer inspected my car glass and said they were stone chips!! in my opinion these speckles are welcome burns, I asked how could stone chips damage every panel of glass without a chip on the paint work.... NO ANSWER I asked what's the difference between stone chips and weld burns.... NO ANSWER so as far as I'm concerned this supposedly 'qualified' engineer based his outcome on guess work, I asked the Financial Ombudsman the same questions...NO ANSWER and they also sided with the engineers decision, I asked DHL Auto Services in Glasgow and DLG HQ customer services....NO ANSWER. However during my complaint process I discovered that Direct Line own Churchill and they also own DLG Autos and this engineer works for them all so basically he has no interest in the client because he's a bootlicker for his bosses!!
