Easy to purchase but a few kinks

Changed car details on day of purchasing car.

Changed car details on day of purchasing car. Daughter stopped for no insurance to find that updated details hadn't happened tried to rectify on that day luckily checked the day after and still hadn't been updated. Customer service is a joke not prepared to accept fault was theirs daughter now risks losing her licence and they do not care a bit about it despite it meaning her losing her job! Absolutely disgraceful company

Absolutely disgraceful company, verging on fraudulent. Have had my claim for over 6 months, I’ve provided all appropriate details - including a police crime number (which is a complete waste of the Police’s time) - yet the claim is still open. They have now stopped responding to emails and phone calls and I really don’t know what else to do. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY. Reviewed on: 14th March 2024

My experience with Churchill after a non-fault claim has been truly awful, and I will never use them again as a result. From the outset, the process was plagued by delays and confusion, with multiple claim handlers and missed appointments. Their handling of my car valuation was particularly frustrating. Both Churchill and CoPart offered the same incredibly low offer, having first outsourced the initial write-off valuation to CoPart, a salvage auctioneer who profits from lower valuations due to a clear conflict of interest: the lower they set the value, the more money they make. They relied solely on outdated guides, completely ignoring my evidence of advertisements for dozens of similar vehicles (and one or two identical models) for way above what they were offering. Only after an official complaint did it come to light that one of the guides they usually use, AutoTrader, gave them a valuation that was much closer to reality than the other 3 guides. However, they discounted it completely and didn't use it as part of their calculation. Churchill didn't understand my frustration at them ignoring one of their own guides and literally dozens of comparable examples from the market simply because they were higher than what they wanted to give me. Notably, of the guides they use, only AutoTrader allows you to actually purchase a vehicle, and unsurprisingly, it was the only one that matched the reality of prices I see. Furthermore, they conveniently ignored the fact that they didn't discount the lowest valuation as an "outlier," only the highest. Churchill cancelled my policy (that included cover to drive family members' cars) without my consent when it had 6 months remaining. To add insult to injury, even though I had paid annually for 12 months and they had cancelled it against my wishes, they also advised me they would not refund the remaining 6 months' premium! I do not care what they slip into the small print of policy documents; this is just plain unacceptable. After a time-consuming and emotionally draining official complaint, their final offer of a mere £200 did nothing to compensate for the inconvenience or the loss of my beloved car. It barely covered the remaining premium which they refused to refund. Overall, Churchill's unfair practices, lack of communication, and complete disregard for my situation have left me feeling frustrated and unsupported. Reviewed on: 29th February 2024

Diabolical Customer Service.

Terrible service, which uses multiple agencies / companies, with foreign call centre staff to process your claim. I waited for the engineer to phone me at the appointed time to discuss my vehicle value and condition, and he did not call and missed the appointment. I complained and they still did not call. I then received an email from the car hire Company saying that my claim was concluded and they were coming to collect my hire car. (Which arrived filthy dirty). I still have not received a payment and no call . I have had to chase and chase to get anywhere and I am still waiting for a pay-out over two weeks later. I am not at fault for the accident and the vehicle was declared a total loss after 24 hours so I don't understand why I am still waiting for my payment. I conclude that they are making excessive money in claiming £ 206.00 per day for a 999cc hire car from the other side insurers. They are a diabolical company to deal with, and I will never consider them again. There service has massively added to the stress of having a claim as if the accident is stressful enough, only to then have to deal with such poor customer service and then have to orchestrate your own claim. AVOID CHURCHILL INSURANCE .

Fully comprehensive insurance no fault accident, no calls, no courtesy car, call center staff in Asia that hang up rather than get involved. I now have no car, have lost work/employment, have injuries & yet there's nothing from Churchill Insurance Company . The most horrific experience of my life dealing with these people. Churchill: dishonest verging on fraudulent!.

Masters of time-wasting and delay tactics to make you want to go away and not bother them anymore. Everyone you speak to at Churchill tells of how they are constrained to not help you because of their systems or procedures - transferring you to the wrong departments to waste more time. Or hiding behind "we'll look into it and get back to you in 2-3 working days". Fraudulent in that they clearly state access to a "Courtesy Car" on the policy only for you to be told you're not! Today, they wasted so much of the day trying to organise a hire car that by the time it got to mid-afternoon and they'd sorted one, it was too late to deliver it until tomorrow when I needed it. Oh, and that was after they didn't organise one yesterday because no one called me back. If you take a policy with Churchill and need to make a claim, be prepared to get very frustrated, angry and stressed out that an organisation can be so incompetent in this day and age! Useless

Cancelled my insurance on my car as I had sold the car. Rang them and everything was ok. Then I saw they had taken money from my bank. I tried to ring them but after half an hour I gave up. Live chat was no help. I sent them an email. But they deducted another amount from my bank. So I cancelled direct debit. Now they want past 2 month’s payment. This company is a joke. You cannot get in touch with anyone to explain. I would avoid this company at all costs Reviewed on: 18th December 2023

Churchill are the absolute worst

They recovered my car after a smashed window and then asked that I collected it from a location. I found that it wasn’t at the location when I arrived and now I am without my car for another week. I have a disabled relative whom I can’t transport due to their mistake (they even acknowledged they had made it) but they have refused to do anything to rectify it. I am seeking legal action with a solicitor for damages. Shop elsewhere for insurance, please be warned!! Reviewed on: 14th December 2023
