My car had a minor bump, Churchill told me that DLG Autos would carry out the repairs on return my windscreen, rear screen, both windows on each side, both mirrors and my sunroof were covered in 100s of minute speckles, their engineer inspected my car glass and said they were stone chips!! in my opinion these speckles are welcome burns, I asked how could stone chips damage every panel of glass without a chip on the paint work.... NO ANSWER I asked what's the difference between stone chips and weld burns.... NO ANSWER so as far as I'm concerned this supposedly 'qualified' engineer based his outcome on guess work, I asked the Financial Ombudsman the same questions...NO ANSWER and they also sided with the engineers decision, I asked DHL Auto Services in Glasgow and DLG HQ customer services....NO ANSWER. However during my complaint process I discovered that Direct Line own Churchill and they also own DLG Autos and this engineer works for them all so basically he has no interest in the client because he's a bootlicker for his bosses!! I answered all the questions only to be told that the underwriters had refused my request. I was told it was not age related and that no reason could be given . 'It was a confidential matter'. When I asked who the underwriters were I was given the same answer even though that information is freely available on the internet. I was left speechless.
