Hit from behind yet Halifax deem me to be liable

I was hit by a trucks trailer as he passed inside me at a roundabout, he fled the scene. Luckily we took his reg number and have clear dashcam evidence that he encroached into my lane and the collision is audible. I reported the accident to Halifax and the police. Unfortunately the other vehicle reg number is not is not clearly legible in the video and therefore the other parties insurers will not accept liability. Halifax tell me that therefore they consider me to be liable and have loaded my policy by an extra £400 despite the fact that I am not claiming as I have repaired the damage myself. Halifax is xcellent value. The bank who give xtra !

Halifax car insurance was very easy to purchase and I like the reassurance of being covered by a bank I trust. I also feel that the coverage of the policy is more comprehensive when compared with other providers. Halifax also offered me the best price out of all the providers I was quoted by. All in one place!

It was great to see a reputable company like Halifax in a comparison site for buying car insurance. This allowed me to get cashback when buying. I was even more pleased that when buying the product, I could easily add this to my app with other Halifax products so I can see all Halifax products in one place. How are they able to trade???

My wife has driven for over 40 years , never ever claimed. she had her car stolen and has been treated like the criminal. We are literally traumatized.Disgusting . They have offered her a hardly nothing for her beautiful car, and made us jump through hoops. Her no claim discount as gone to 3 year's and they tried to rip us off to re insure her new car. Money owed overdue from Halifax

I am waiting for a refund of the owed car insurance and this is overdue. Despite numerous call during the day, I am left on hold and unable to speak to anyone. This is becoming very stressful. Reviewed on: 4th January 2024
