Called up to cancel a policy and receive a quote on a new car. Was told I to cancel the direct debit with the bank and policy was cancelled. Started receiving letters saying I owed them money. They are useless. Policy wasn't cancelled apparently and they won't hold their hands up and admit to the mistake now I'm having to contact the DVLA to get confirmation of when I sold my old car to get this backdated and cancelled. I also had one payment left on my previous policy and I called to change the payment date was told "Oh can't change it the system is down" which really means the girl either didn't know or couldn't be bothered finding out how to do it, which then resulted in the payment being missed the policy being cancelled and my premiums going up. Cancelled my new policy after 24 hours due to non claim accident and had the nerve to charge me £20 cancellation fee plus £6 for one day cover and then held on to my £80 deposit for nearly 3 weeks. Got same cover from Hasting Ins. for 50% less Reviewed on: 21st September 2016

Useless advisors, the bottom of the barrel I guess

Great price but advisors useless

Due to buying a new car and keeping the old one until policy was up Halifax automatically cancelled my policy without following my direct instructions to run the insurance until renewal, thus by doing this they lost my no claims bonus Reviewed on: 9th September 2016

Changed to Halifax and received a great price for my car insurance. They contacted me the next day to tell me further checks had been done and my monthly payments went down further as my ncb was higher than previously thought. Helpfully and kind. Will now bank with them. Reviewed on: 19th May 2016

Very easy to change was cheaper than I paid last year for my car insurance with less excess to pay. Very pleased with the service. Got my insurance through my internet banking with halifax so ook only minutes Reviewed on: 17th February 2016

Too complicated! That many conditions involved.

Insurance through larger insurance company. Told me I needed to put car in garage otherwise would not insure. Have lived in present property for 28 years and never had this condition for my car. Reviewed on: 11th October 2014
