I have been banking with Halifax for 15 years with excellent customer service always received, so I thought I would have a look at the other products they offered and came across car insurance. Not only was the deal competitive but has been nothing but plain sailing from the start, in fact I didn't even use comparison sites this year as I usually do and just auto renewed for the first time ever! Windscreen repair

A chip in my windscreen turned into a crack that meant the whole windscreen needed to be replaced. As it was covered under my insurance I only needed to pay the excess which was over £300 cheaper :-) The arranging was quick and simple, the work was carried out at home to a high standard. Avoid these insurers there are much better ones out there

Excessive admin charges to alter simple things on your policy such as change of address. Customer service very poor. Quick to take your money but slow to process any refunds. Unfriendly and inflexible. Gives Halifax a bad name. The worst car insurance company I've dealt with in 30 years. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2017
