Unhelpful and inflexible

When changing car mid policy very unhelpful and more interested in getting their cancellation fee than trying to be competitive on price Reviewed on: 31st May 2017

Great car insurance

Phoned up Halifax car insurance to get a quote could not be leave I end up paying half of what I was paying saving me nearly £300 year great value for money. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2017

Fine

Had various car insurance companies over the years and as I've not had to make a claim then can't really rate them. Currently with the Halifax and everything is fine. Reviewed on: 27th February 2017

Avoid these insurers there are much better ones out there

Excessive admin charges to alter simple things on your policy such as change of address. Customer service very poor. Quick to take your money but slow to process any refunds. Unfriendly and inflexible. Gives Halifax a bad name. The worst car insurance company I've dealt with in 30 years. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2017

Sneaky

Called up to cancel a policy and receive a quote on a new car. Was told I to cancel the direct debit with the bank and policy was cancelled. Started receiving letters saying I owed them money. They are useless. Policy wasn't cancelled apparently and they won't hold their hands up and admit to the mistake now I'm having to contact the DVLA to get confirmation of when I sold my old car to get this backdated and cancelled. I also had one payment left on my previous policy and I called to change the payment date was told "Oh can't change it the system is down" which really means the girl either didn't know or couldn't be bothered finding out how to do it, which then resulted in the payment being missed the policy being cancelled and my premiums going up. thieving b******s

Cancelled my new policy after 24 hours due to non claim accident and had the nerve to charge me £20 cancellation fee plus £6 for one day cover and then held on to my £80 deposit for nearly 3 weeks. Got same cover from Hasting Ins. for 50% less Reviewed on: 21st September 2016

Useless advisors, the bottom of the barrel I guess

The staff are hopeless and don't understand the basics. Prices are okay up and down really but the level of understanding from the staff is hopeless. Reviewed on: 15th September 2016

Great price but advisors useless

Due to buying a new car and keeping the old one until policy was up Halifax automatically cancelled my policy without following my direct instructions to run the insurance until renewal, thus by doing this they lost my no claims bonus Reviewed on: 9th September 2016

Car insurance

Changed to Halifax and received a great price for my car insurance. They contacted me the next day to tell me further checks had been done and my monthly payments went down further as my ncb was higher than previously thought. Helpfully and kind. Will now bank with them. Reviewed on: 19th May 2016
