Competitive quote backed by good customer service. Options clearly explained, without any pressure to purchase. I particularly appreciated the personal service provided when setting up my policy - without the need to fill out a long questionnaire online Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

I tell the legal expenses that I have a boundary dispute and they say we don’t cover that. Even though other providers do. I then phone their 24 hour legal helpline and find that it is not really 24 hours as I ring late at night and they tell me no legal adviser can take your call. Can we ring you tomorrow. When I do get to talk about my legal problem they will only discuss topics which their legal expenses policy will cover. Even though all I want is telephone legal advice. When I have been with other providers they still let me discuss legal topics which their legal expenses policy does not cover as it is just telephone advice. Which ? Has given this provider a low score for its home insurance in comparison to other providers. Yet apparently it is a Defaqto rated provider which I find hard to understand. Needless to say when my policy comes up for renewal I will switch to another provider who actually looks after their customers and is there when you need. I just hope that my house doesn’t burn down. Otherwise they might say sorry we don’t cover that ! Reviewed on: 15th February 2024

Its regarding home insurence- Pls avoid as AA is not acutal insurer. Its regarding home insurence. Pls Avoid..... I have home insurence with contents covered while on holiday. My wife lost her gold chain while on holiday. We provided all the information regarding the claim. At last they rejected the claim saying they can't find where it was lost. If I know where it was lost, i will go and find there or complain there, why whould I calim insurence and waste my time. They try their best to avoid claim. Better find some good insurer who are underwriter as well. I took this insurence based on AA brand name, but AA is just broker, actual insurer is different who are avoing claims giving silly reasons. Thinking now to go to ambudsman. Avoid AA for your mental peace for home insurence. Reviewed on: 18th December 2023

Don't buy as AA is just middleman

Hi, AA doest not handle home insurance. Its third party who handle claims and policy. I took home insurance based on AA brand and been with them past 3 years. I have home and contents insurance with contents covered outside of my home. We went on holiday last summer and my wife lost gold chain in holiday which was in her hand bag. When I claimed for it, AA transferred claim to third party company who is giving lot of excuses to avoid paying claim. The reason given was they can't establish where the chain was lost. If I know where it was lost, I will go and find it there, its a common sense, why I claim with insurance company. Please don't be fooled by AA brand with home insurance. I am really shocked by the response for my claim. Avoid avoid for home and contents insurance. Reviewed on: 26th November 2023

Terrible

AA Home Insurance is just awful - we had been with them for many years, never made a claim. We had a water leak at our home, water gushing out of a pipe, we called a plumber right away in order to stop more damage being caused. Cost of repair was £426.00- we sent the claim dept footage of the leak and screenshots showing the invoice and a bank statement showing the payment was made as they had requested. Claim was turned down as 'you did not follow your policy rules by calling us first and using our own tradesman' What?? We thought we were helping the AA by not letting the water cause more damage than necessary and saving them money. I could have understood if it had been for thousands, but £426.00?? Avoid the AA - they just want your money and they use any excuse to weasel out of paying - awful Company Reviewed on: 31st July 2023
