I was recommended Sheffield Credit Union by a patient that I worked with many years ago, who found value and purpose in their life volunteering for the Union, I had a bad time losing my job, going through divorce, bankruptcy, bereavement and mental illness, the credit union was instrumental in helping me gain savings, faith in myself and my future money management. I’m now in a good job with lots of savings but I still enjoy saving with the credit union, knowing it will help others and continue to grow the Union and I can put something back to help others, as Sheffield Credit Union helped me. Good place to save

Very helpful

I stumbled across Sheffield credit union by chance saw that helped low income family and I joined they’ve been very helpful and are very polite and I can now start saving again and with options of a loan which in the current climate is fantastic Reviewed on: 28th June 2023

Affordability for everyone

I have saved regularly with the Sheffield credit union, since I originally opened my account over 13 years ago. The amount I have saved each month has varied over the years from as little as £2 a week to now £160 a month. It has been many things for me over the years, my "emergency fund", "rainy day money" and now is my most trusted savings account. Recently I applied for a first time mortgage (with a broker) and my ability to save and borrow with SCU over the years has greatly benefited my credit score and enabled me a higher level of affordability I didn't think I would get. I will always be a customer of SCU and am grateful for everything they have helped me with over all these years. Reviewed on: 30th May 2023

Sheffield Credit Union is a very good way to save for a rainy day

I have been with Sheffield Credi Union/Ryton Credit Union since 1990s saving in fits and starts at first then I trusted saving by banker's order. The Credit Union gives better dividend than other banking for me. They are prompt in releasing money when i need to withdraw. Up till now I haven't had to ask for a loan but I know my money is used to help those who find money road blocks arriving unexpectedly. I know of quite a few people who have got back up oto their feet after hard times due to being members of a Credit Union. Reviewed on: 29th May 2023

Brilliant

First time in my live managed to have savings as Credit Union deduct from my salary. It’s a great idea. Love the friendly website / portal - Irwin’s balance and a few transactional items.
