Affordability for everyone

I have saved regularly with the Sheffield credit union, since I originally opened my account over 13 years ago. The amount I have saved each month has varied over the years from as little as £2 a week to now £160 a month. It has been many things for me over the years, my "emergency fund", "rainy day money" and now is my most trusted savings account. Recently I applied for a first time mortgage (with a broker) and my ability to save and borrow with SCU over the years has greatly benefited my credit score and enabled me a higher level of affordability I didn't think I would get. Fair, honest, good value, family based

I have been a member of Sheffield credit union for over 10 years now. I have had loans on multiple occasions as well as saving over 4k with them. They are very quick, transparent and extremely helpful. They helped me manage my money when I was a poor cash strapped student and single mum of 3 young children. And now I save with them as a qualified nurse who saves as well as borrows. My last loan was for a new car and was the largest cash purchase I have ever made of 6k. They helped me secure the loan right for me and the money was ready when I found my perfect car. I could not recommend them enough, and I actually do to all my friends and colleagues. Super helpful and easy to use

I have been a member for over 10 years and used a wide range of services. They have helped me through difficult times when I became a lone parent and also when I was at university studying to be a nurse. I now save regularly with them and have just borrowed against my savings for a new car, as my last one was old and on it's last legs. They were incredibly quick and helpful and I was able to secure a new car very quickly. This is vital in my job as I am a district nurse. Could not recommend them enough. Reviewed on: 9th June 2021
