Absolutely avoid.

Absolutely avoid. Terrible customer experience, from a bank that won’t even allow you to control your own money, nor give you even bother to give you a reason why. As a Product Designer I can also confidently say the user experience is comical. Rather than drawing focus to the funds in your account, they prioritise how much you’ve spent that day by drawing contrast to this, rather than what you have available. The staff are rude, unhelpful and not remorseful in the slightest. The last straw for me was when my sister desperately needed me to send some money to her and Starling blocked it. Quick and easy to navigate and use for Businesses

App is really easy to use for quick day to day and the desktop version great for more in depth detail. Opening the account as super easy compared to dealing with trad high st banks in the past. Pleased I opened my account with Starling Reviewed on: 20th March 2024

Cash Deposit Limit

Generally very good but the fact that I had to open up a second business bank account with a competitor because of the £100,000 limit of cash deposits into our account has taken the edge off our experience. We are a £1.2m business and 20% of our take is in cash Reviewed on: 20th March 2024

Great for small business

I use Starling for my business banking and have been very impressed. As a small business, the fact that I'm not charged is incredibly valuable and being able to categorise spend has been very useful. I also appreciate their environmental and social commitments as banking has such an impact in the world we live in. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Reviewed on: 19th March 2024

Starling - Gives you confidence in banking

I started out with a business account and whilst I have not fully explored all the services, Starling has given me a lot of confidence. The App is brilliant and easy to use and on the occasions I have needed to call them to speak with someone, they have answered quickly and been extremely helpful. No receipt for fee transaction (Euro to £)

I have had a personal account and sole trader account for more than 4 years with Starling and everything always worked well (€ and £ accounts). I then set up a Ltd company so I created a business account with Starling and I was very disapointed. First thing is that we are not able to open € business account at the moment so when you receive money in € you pay a 2% fee which is quite high but fair enough. The real problem is that you have absolutely no chance to have any statement of this fee when you have received the money (which I needed to expense it but also because I thought it would naturally be my right to ask for it). Here the copy/paste messages from someone at their Help center in the live chat (who is always helpful to be fair): "I had a further look into this for you and I can see that our app does not show how the exact fee that was applied when receiving the transfer. The exchange and the fees are done automatically by the system. I do apologise about this" "From what I can see and from what I have been advised by my other colleagues, we do not specifically issue a statement of the fee as all of this is done automatically." It does seem very strange for me that a bank is even allowed to do that and not show you a sum up of the fees you pay for a transaction. It would be great if you could change that Starling!
