Review of the Starling Bank, Business Account:

No receipt for fee transaction (Euro to £)

I have had a personal account and sole trader account for more than 4 years with Starling and everything always worked well (€ and £ accounts). I then set up a Ltd company so I created a business account with Starling and I was very disapointed. First thing is that we are not able to open € business account at the moment so when you receive money in € you pay a 2% fee which is quite high but fair enough. The real problem is that you have absolutely no chance to have any statement of this fee when you have received the money (which I needed to expense it but also because I thought it would naturally be my right to ask for it). Here the copy/paste messages from someone at their Help center in the live chat (who is always helpful to be fair): "I had a further look into this for you and I can see that our app does not show how the exact fee that was applied when receiving the transfer. The exchange and the fees are done automatically by the system. I do apologise about this" "From what I can see and from what I have been advised by my other colleagues, we do not specifically issue a statement of the fee as all of this is done automatically." It does seem very strange for me that a bank is even allowed to do that and not show you a sum up of the fees you pay for a transaction. It would be great if you could change that Starling!
