Nothing too much trouble always willing to listen. Ability to provide me with an option,always. I would recommend to anyone. I'm in control of my credit with them

Irresponsible lenders!!! Stay away!!!

Now… where do I start… I think Vanquis is an irresponsible lender and I urge any of their 1.7 million customers, who have a slightest... Now… where do I start… I think Vanquis is an irresponsible lender and I urge any of their 1.7 million customers, who have a slightest doubt about their lending being responsible and haven’t previously complained, to make the irresponsible lending complaint as soon as possible. Please share it with everyone. I’ve been Vanquis customer since March 2015. First they gave me a credit card with a credit limit of £150, while I was stuck in payday loan debt cycle. Then they increased my credit limit in December 2015 to £550, when I was nearly at my previous credit limit. Then they done the same thing while I was on maternity leave and struggling financially in May and October 2016 to £1250 and £2250. In January 2017 I was missing payments and they sent me arrears letters. I was diagnosed with serious illness in March 2017 and had to use Repayment Option Plan feature to freeze my account. As a sensible person, I made larger than minimum payments in 2020 and 2022 I think, because I was getting a lump sum for benefit underpayments. This was I think in 2020 I paid my balance off completely. These factors were used against me by Vanquis and FOS too! FOS turned and twisted each and every single fact and used it against me and just kept praising Vanquis! It made me feel sick! I stopped working in 2018 due to health issues. In March 2022 they’ve increased my credit limit to 3K. By then I was drowning in debt, borrowing heavily from anyone I could and using my credit cards and overdraft heavily!I was constantly in my overdraft for 6 years since 2018! They are saying that they reward their customers with the credit limit increases. This is the most disturbing and unethical thing to say! I didn’t know about irresponsible lending until 2024, I made the complaint about irresponsible lending to Vanquis. They didn’t uphold it. I took it to FOS they didn’t uphold it either, although I was advised I had quite a strong case. Vanquis and FOS keep saying that checks were proportionate, I was managing account very well, made overpayments blah blah blah… I honestly think that banks and FOS are in it together and the lenders can pretty much get away with anything as soon as they don’t kill anyone. And I don’t really need Vanquis or FOS to tell me that lender is responsible or not I can see it myself. Both FOS and Vanquis twisted the facts about what checks were completed when lending and increasing credit limits. FOS said that they can’t see ANY evidence about affordability checks being carried out, but they PROBABLY were… and just took their word for it! Vanquis swears they’ve completed the checks, but I don’t think they did and if they did - they were not proportionate!!! However, pease don’t let my unsuccessful experience to put you off of complaining! This burden of debt had a serious affects on my mental health and I’m devastated to say the least. Over nearly 10 years I paid Vanquis bank £10,911.95 and I’ve still got £2,780.00 of debt outstanding from 3K limit, which has now been sold on and I can only afford a monthly repayment of £0.88! I’ve emailed CEO of Vanquis Ian McLaughlin, who sounded very helpful first, but he hasn’t done nothing at all. Patrick Customer Support Ambassador, who didn’t include his last name, was as useless! The greed of these people is unbelievable, honestly! While we are struggling to get living essentials and struggling with unaffordable debt - they are living high lives and “bathing” in luxury! I urge you to please stay away from Vanquis!!! They are unethical, greedy, the most horrible lenders I’ve ever had in my life!!! If you are in the cycle of debt already I urge you once again to complain! And never make overpayments to them! Better spend it on your needs! Vanquis doesn’t even deserve one star, if I’m honest! They don’t deserve to exist at all and are inhumane company! I hope karma will get them soon! Read more Read less

    Top Company!

    They’ve been extremely helpful in helping balance out my finances. I used to have multiple credit cards but now I solely have credit with these guys! Excellent company.

    Abusive Staff who verbally attack customers I want to raise a serious concern about the unacceptable behavior of Vanquis Bank's customer service staff. Despite being... Abusive Staff who verbally attack customers I want to raise a serious concern about the unacceptable behavior of Vanquis Bank's customer service staff. Despite being a loyal customer for over 6 years, I have consistently experienced unprofessionalism from the overseas call center, particularly since the UK call centers were closed and operations were outsourced to South Africa. The level of disrespect and verbal abuse I have endured is deeply concerning. Staff have not only refused to transfer calls to the UK call center but have also used derogatory language towards me and my partner. My partner, a customer of 16 years, was subjected to discrimination verbally attacks and insults due to their reading disability, and even a senior complaint manager named Jason further exacerbated the situation by verbally abusing and threatening my partner over the phone. This behavior is intolerable and reflects poorly on the bank's image. I strongly urge the bank to reconsider its decision to outsource the call center to South Africa and bring it back to the UK. As a result of these ongoing issues, I have made the difficult decision to close my account. I hope that this matter will be taken seriously and addressed promptly. Read more Read less
