I’m a contractor and came over from Mettle. This account is far too basic for running my business. I’ve gone back to Mettle as with them I can categorise my transactions and ad photos of receipts which I can do none of with this Virgin business account. If you’re using it as a personal account to save then fair enough but I was led to believe this was a creditable alternative option for my business banking. Mettle is streets ahead in this regard. **Review for Virgin M+ Account Customer Service Experience** Ah, Virgin, where holding music becomes your new favourite playlist, and your account seems as exciting to them as a forgotten sock under the bed. My recent escapade with Virgin’s M+ account customer service felt like starring in my own tragicomedy – minus the comedy. Let’s start with the wait time. By the time someone answered, I felt like I’d grown a beard, learned to play the ukulele, and made peace with my own mortality. Seriously, if patience is a virtue, Virgin should hand out sainthood certificates to anyone who survives their phone queue. When I finally got through, the chaos began. Imagine a circus, but instead of clowns juggling balls, they’re juggling my account details – and dropping them. Confusion doesn’t even cover it. One department sent me to another, and by the end, I wasn’t sure if I was dealing with customer service or an elaborate game of "pass the parcel." What really took the cake (or maybe just took my will to live) was their sheer lack of interest in my account. I mean, I get it, it’s not the Crown Jewels, but could someone at least pretend to care? Instead, I got all the enthusiasm of a teenager asked to do chores. And the empathy? Non-existent. I could have been telling them my house was on fire, and they’d probably have replied with, "Let me transfer you to the fire department… please hold." In short, dealing with Virgin’s M+ account service was like trying to have a deep conversation with a brick wall – slow, frustrating, and utterly pointless. Virgin, if you’re reading this, maybe try pretending your customers matter? Or at least give us frequent flyer miles for all the time we spend on hold. Great Premium Account for Insurance for travel, gadgets and car travel. This meets my needs to cover myself and immediate family. For the monthly fee you obtain more value if you require those elements (it is much better price than getting it individually). I fortunately only had to activate the car travel one and it works as described. Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

Switching deal swindle

Wanted the 12% interest rate on £1000, for switching an old account to them. Opened the new account in May 2024. Switch deadline was 26 June. I switched on 21 June. BUT, the delay with them then meant the switch would not happen until 1 August. They now say I do not qualify for the interest rate and only get 1%! I have no control over their internal delays. Previous switches with other banks only said you had to initiate a switch by the deadline. I've put in a written complaint so we'll see what happens. But this is sneaky. Reviewed on: 6th August 2024

Fraudulent transaction dealt with well

I had a fraudulent transaction in my account, I contacted virgin money and the lady I spoke to was extremely helpful. She raised the case and arranged a new card for me. The money is back in my account today and this happened yesterday Reviewed on: 25th April 2024

Odd system on customer name setup

I opened an account recently but they are not able to fix the name problem. My first name has two words but virgin money system will put my second word of First name as Middle name. Their IT still can’t fix or update their system. What year are we living in to face this technical issue? Reviewed on: 18th April 2024

Great, simple debit card offering

The app isn't too complex but works pretty well. Great cashback offers that, for a free debit card, make use feel worthwhile. Plus fee-free foreign payments, and physically, snazzy card. I can't comment much on how things go when support is needed... But basic usage feels modern and uncomplicated. Reviewed on: 13th March 2024
