Untrustworthy bank, awful staff If you care about your savings keep away. Bank stores are so few that when you have issues you won’t get resolution. Reviewed on: 19th November 2022

Review of the Virgin Money, Regular Savings:

Virgin Money's 10.38th% Regular Saver a/c

5
Virgin Money's Regular Saver a/c pays quarterly interest of 10.3/8th% AER, Fixed until 31st July 2025, which is currently the best in the market. £250 max per month permitted. You can overpay later if you were not able to pay £250 previously, so long as you don't exceed the max £3000 per annum. Virgin now of course part of Nationwide BS, so unlikely to go bust!. There are various restrictions, including one's having been a member of Virgin Money Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank since 4th December 2019 or earlier, so not everyone can have the account, but for those eligible this Regular Saver cannot in my opinion be beaten. Getting a virgin ISA was such a simple and straightforward purpose. I love the fact that everything can be set up online. All information was clear and there were lots of options to choose from Reviewed on: 6th September 2016

0% Transfer deals.

I applied for a credit card for a 0% transfer offer. I got the card but on applying to transfer debts from another credit card was responded with 'There is a problem'. I was unable to easily get through on the phone so re applied with the same result. Some months later I was offered another transfer deal but when I applied, again on line through my account, it too was turned down. I did not want to spend time ringing up as I like to conduct my business on line . I haven't bothered using the card and would cancel it if I could easily do that online. A waste of time. I have been unable to find an attractive savings rate (compared to other providers) on your Virgin site so unlikely to remain with you. Reviewed on: 1st September 2016

Saving that suits me

I save with Virgin Money through a Help to Buy ISA and Save to Buy A/C. I chose Virgin Money as they had one of the best rates at the time and I also liked that I didnt need to go into a branch to set up my account/s or to manage my account/s. I recommended Virgin Money to around 4 of my friends who now have similar saving accounts. The only thing I don't like is that there is no app for my phone to be able to easily log in and out. I've never spoken to anyone at Virgin Money so I can't really comment on customer experience in that sense, but I am always kept informed by email which suits me. Reviewed on: 1st September 2016

Easy and customer based

Needed advice and got it here when my normal bank (worlds largest bank) got it all wrong. Good energy in an institutionalised world. Reviewed on: 1st September 2016
