Disgusted with fees

Purchased a product from an overseas seller and while I understand there are international transaction fees I wasn't expecting $130 for a computer to change one currency to another! It's not like they are paying someone a wage to do it. It's a computer to another computer. My nab debit card is international fee free so it really makes you wonder how a company like virgin can rip people off and yet nab bank can absorb the fee. Both cards are no annual fee so I don't understand. But I will be closing the account and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. Stay away from them. Reviewed on: 11th March 2025

Please don’t use This card

My card got hacked so I cancelled the card. Asked for a new card to be sent out . Card was sent to the wrong address, when I contacted them to ask where my card was they wouldn’t tell me the address it was sent to. They just said it wasn’t sent to the address I asked. I Tried the same process again giving them my address 3 times making sure they had the correct address. Again the same thing happened, I’ve never had an issue receiving mail at this Address, it’s now been one month no card. Tried several times to resolve the problem and the consultants were of no help whatsoever. This card has a few good things going for it in the rewards program but thats about it. This is the first review I’ve ever wrote custom service is the worst, once your card is locked from being hack you cannot access to see any transactions. I wanted to cancel my card and pay out the balance but couldn’t access my profile to double check the transactions. End of the day worst experience cannot recommend this card whatsoever Reviewed on: 10th February 2025

If you have a credit card and an an app but are locked out of your account they are not open 24/7 to unlock your app, not even on a Sunday. If u are in a tight spot rubbish, I was absolutely 100% sure I had used the right password - my wedding anniversary been married 26 years and now locked out went online to try and log in there and not 100% sure of password and now locked out - chose a company with 24/7 customer service please, looking to switch , was messed around on phone told incorrect information ie was open 24/7 so wasted a lot of time ! International transaction fee?

International transaction fee? $170? Wow! No fine line when this card would charge you international transaction fee. The charged me for $145 annual fee - used this card for less than a month and happily cancelled it. Will never ever use Virgin Money again! Highly not recommended!!!! Reviewed on: 15th November 2024

Poor communication

I endured many phone calls and many errors and generally broken lines of communication and wrong information. Despite many letters phone calls and emails I was compensated for their errors but was left very scarred by the experience would never use them again. Reviewed on: 4th June 2024

Twice ( and now I’m on holiday ) my card has been blocked , access to the website blocked and not once a text or a warning. And we think a cashless society is the way to go. Not with Virgin it isn’t. Appalling company

Gave a wrong password by mistake on phone back in February. Virgin money have requested I post in ID and proof of address. I have done this twice. I also went in a Virgin money branch and they emailed it to them. They still say they haven't got it. Rude unhelpful staff. Had the phone put down a few times. They refuse to send statements but have taken large sums by direct debit. The only reason I care is that this account should be in credit due to a holiday refund. Despite complaints and numerous phone calls they are refusing to close the account and refund the money. Worst company I have ever dealt with. I am at a loss what to do next. Applied for a credit card at the beginning of May which I needed for a family holiday for the end of the month. Even called in after I got accepted to clarify my situation and was guaranteed that card should be with me by then, as cards take 7-10 days to arrive. Waited patiently for the card since the 4th May, and yesterday (the 20th), was the 10th working day as well the day the card was meant to arrive. Still nothing came through. Decided to call the support number to get an update on my situation as I believed there could be a possible delay with the delivery or things of such and the operator blocked the card without my consent, although me telling her not to do so as I’d rather wait a day or two for possible delays and she told me that I will have to wait all over again for the new requested card. Had to cancel the holiday due to this. These people are not reliable and careless for customers needs. APPLY FOR A DIFFERENT CREDIT CARD IF YOU CAN. Reviewed on: 21st May 2024

Don't do it. Such a scam and the worst experience.

There is no process to gain access to your account once they "lock" you out. Not even the Customer Service Team has access. They are charging me fees that I cannot even view. This is an absolute scam, and I wish I had never opened an account with Virgin Money. I now have other accounts with AMEX and Monzo, the experience with them is incomparably better.
