Review of the Admiral, Travel Insurance:

Don't go with the Cheapest

4
I too have an annual travel insurance policy with Admiral. I have been insured with them for 12 years and had 2 claims for cancellation ( close family death and personal illness).Once I provided the proofs claims were settled with no hassle. Insurance is not about cost.It is about how you are treated in the unlikely event of a claim.Do not go for the cheapest. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Appalling in every way

They took 4.5 months to even acknowledge receipt of my claim and then only settled 50% of the amount citing reasons that are totally untrue! They do everything they can not to pay and never respond to your emails unless you file a complaint. A total disgrace. Reviewed on: 12th August 2022

Terrible company to deal with, avoid

1
On my first night my apt was broken into and my holiday money stolen, despite a police report and all paperwork which they claimed I never sent to which eventually they found and after repeated phone/emails and after 4 months they refused my claim basically taking the holiday agent word against mine, avoid at all costs. I have took an official complaint against them. Shocking service! Reviewed on: 22nd July 2022

Useless would be an improvement

I made a claim due to missing a trip to Covid, I filled the online form and that was simple enough, two weeks later an agent asks for the same documents to be sent again. 6 weeks go by, without no communication, then suddenly an email stating my claim is successful and it has to go through some checks and then it takes 5-10 days to receive the money. After a month after the email, I email them to find out what's going on as I haven't received my payment. An agent replies saying they don't have my documents with the details on it or declaration, which you have to fill in to complete it online, and also wanted me to fill in a claims form again. Now its been nearly 4 months and still no money that they have said the claim is successful. Reviewed on: 17th July 2022

Terrible customer service - slow - fine small print to catch you.

1
Very poor customer service, policy wording, communication and support. I took out a multi-trip gold policy and had to claim for covid 19 while away and purchase a new flight home. Took over 60 days from filing my claim, multiple phone calls to admiral, long wait time on the phone, them rejecting evidence they requested to be eventually denied the claim. They denied it because I took a policy out while away even though it has no bearing on my actual claim and had tests and dates to prove this. Check the small print because they will use it not to pay. Do not recommend and will happily use another company in the future. They are polite when they tell you they wont pay and that they understand your frustration... Reviewed on: 15th July 2022

We will Never use them again!

My wife found out she had breast cancer and we had to cancel our holiday flights due to the imminent operation. Following Admirals contact with our doctor this was confirmed but they pointed out that they had found out my wife had Gastritis which we had not informed them about when taking the policy out. Following this we then had wait since the 3rd of March when we first applied till now, the 12 of July 2022 to get half of our money back due to not informing them. (An honest mistake) Although Admiral were by the letter of the law are correct I did point out we cancelled our flights due to my wife’s cancer NOT Gastritis, they were not interested and just seemed to want to get the payout down as much as possible. Will I or my family ever use this company again 100% NO would I recommend them to anyone 100% NO. I hope the people at Admiral can sleep at night and no one has to go through what me and my wife had to go through with this company. Reviewed on: 12th July 2022

Current travel insurance being cancelled by admiral after advising new medical condition

1
Trying to be honest, contacted insurer to advise of an emergency procedure having taken place subsequent to and not known when obtaining multi trip insurance and ascertain if it needed to be included. Condition being twisted bowel and procedure for right hemicholectomy for a volvulus of mal positioned caecum in April 22. Representative said it had come back declined is being referred to underwriters and meant current insurance could not continue as it was and It meant cancellation of existing insurance and pro rata refund being sent. It was explained to the representative that procedure rectified the problem and discharged in June 22 and not an ongoing issue. Do not see why insurance should be cancelled. Nb: attempted to contact/Complain Admiral CEO however, E-mail address on CEOemail.com seems to be incorrect or just deliberately blocked and returned undelivered. Reviewed on: 5th July 2022
