About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

Stay clear of dealing with this company

Slow company to do anything, make promises they never keep and have appalling customer service and send out misleading documentation Reviewed on: 14th January 2025

Won't pay my pension. Dreadful customer service.

Supposed to pay me my pension draw down on the 25th May. They didn't. Told me they would pay me on the 12th of June. They didn't. Spun a yarn that they had paid me. No money in my account. They won't give me a reference number of the payment transaction. These cowboys are running their payroll services every 3 or 4 months or so to save money. Pension

Aegon sent me a letter to say the money from my pension would be paid in to my account the beginning of June, I’m still waiting and no-one can tell me why there is a delay. The complaints department don’t respond so I have referred this to the Financial Ombudsman - there is no way I would ever touch this company. I feel sorry for the people who work in customer service there because they don’t have answers to any of the queries. Appalling service - I don’t even want to give them... Useless!

I have tried contacting Aegon to just find out my Plan Number - impossible, without my Plan Number. I will try to write to them 9as you cannot email or phone them) but do not hold much hope. Worse experience I have had, noting I have 3 other pension providers! Reviewed on: 20th June 2023

Cowboys

I have been trying to have my pension in a lump sum from Aegon since last summer. I can never get through I n the phone, completed the relevant forms and sent them registered post and they still don't respond. Be very wary of this company, I wish I could get them done for theft. Catastrophically bad performance

The value of my pension pot with Aegon has plummeted over 30% over the last 2 years. This is a catastrophically bad performance. Don’t touch them with a barge pole. Reviewed on: 12th June 2023

AVOID AT All COSTS!

Do not touch this company with a barge pole!!! Happy to take your money but woe be tied you try and get it back! Been trying to access a trust fund for over 18 months!!! Rudest customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I have been hung up on several occasions when just trying to access basic information about our own money. I feel mugged by this company

Extremely poor communication. When I finally got my surrender value of my fund by this company it was more than £1k less than my most recent statement had quoted. Reviewed on: 8th June 2023

They can't find my registered letter

Well here we go again. This is the third review I writen with in the last two weeks. I've been trying to withdraw my pension fund and the nonsense I've had to go through is pathetic. This company is absolutely useless. I had to send bank statements along other things I've had to do. Now they can't find the registered letter I sent. Dreadful Service

I currently have a pension with Aegon. You can never contact them. Phone waiting time is always massive. Webchat keeps getting cancelled due to no agents available. The website is extremely difficult to navigate. There are far better companies that offer a better customer experience. Reviewed on: 5th June 2023
